Cover Characteristic: Wolves

Cover Characteristics is a meme hosted by Sugar & Snark. Each week, participants choose 5 covers for that week’s theme. This week’s theme is Wolves.

 

This is the first time I’ve joined Cover Characteristics. While I don’t think I’ll be doing it weekly, I will probably jump in whenever the theme particularly appeals to me.

There are tons of urban fantasy novels and shifter romances with wolves on the cover, so I decided to do something a little different and focus on YA and children’s books with cover art, not photos, of wolves. The one exception to the children’s/YA rule is Never Cry Wolf; I included it because my 9th-grade history and science teacher read it to us during lunch, and I loved it. (That’s also why I went with the cover I remember from that edition.) Of the other books, I’ve only read The Wolves of Willoughby Chase and Wolf-Speaker, and I included them primarily because I love the books themselves (though WoWC is a good cover.) But isn’t the cover of Old Wolf gorgeous? I couldn’t resist it.

    I’d probably go with Old Wolf as my favorite here although Julie of the Wolves is nice too. They’re all nice really. Can’t go wrong with wolves. 🙂 I like Wolf Speaker too the more I look at it.

      I love the whole Immortals quartet, and I really like that cover. But my favorite cover in that bunch is for Old Wolf, I think.
