Book & Movie Announcements

  • There’s a new Inspector Alleyn mystery called Money in the Morgue! How did I miss this!? HarperCollins had the first few chapters and some notes for an unfinished Inspector Alleyn mystery by Ngaio Marsh. They gave it to fellow New Zealander Stella Duffy to finish. Like Marsh, Duffy is familiar with both NZ and Britain, and has been involved in theater, so she was the logical choice. (Stuff.co.nz)  The Guardian praises the novel, and says they can’t tell where Marsh ends and Duffy begins. I must read it!

Bookish Quote

Isn’t that the truth!?

That’s it for this week!

A new Ngaio Marsh!! I missed that too but now I definitely need a copy. That’s interesting about the bats. I really want to build some bat houses. My grandparents used to have tons of mosquitos and then bats moved in under the house and they’re now mosquito free. It’s fantastic. Great collection of links today!

That quote is SO true! Books are sometimes a very welcome escape from real life. 🙂

What a perfect quote, and I plan to check out reading 30 books in 30 days. That sounds fascinating! Hugs…RO

Good luck! I read quickly, but I don’t think I could manage 30 in 30, unless they were all really short and fluffy… and I had nothing else pressing to do after a work day.
