My Week
We spent New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day quietly, and the next few days as well. Thursday, Mr. Bookwyrm and I flew home; fortunately, the mammoth nor’easter storm didn’t have much impact on our travel, since the snow was pretty light at BWI. Tasha-kitty is glad to have us back. She has a lot to say to us, but of course we don’t understand a meowrd of it.
Since then, it’s been several days of unpacking and trying to catch up: on laundry, phone messages, work, household chores, and everything else I let slide over the holidays. Including blogging. Going away for the holidays is lovely; coming home is… well, it’s lovely to come home, too, but sad to leave loved ones behind, especially Robin.

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished both Bloodstains with Bronte by Katherine Bolger Hyde (ARC) and Promise Not To Tell (Jayne Ann Krentz; ARC; reread) and read Tempest (Beverly Jenkins; ARC.) That’s more ARCs in a week than I’ve read in a good long while; I hope to write all three reviews this coming week, and get back in the habit of reviewing soon after I finish a book. I also started A Treacherous Curse by Deanna Raybourn (ARC), and reread Oathbound (Mercedes Lackey) and started the sequel, Oathbreaker.
Listening to: I’ve been listening to some of the new albums I got for Christmas: Fifteen and Bright Morning Stars by the Wailin’ Jennys, Lux by Voces 8, and Light and Gold by Eric Whitacre. (I love his “The Seal Lullaby”!) I need to get back to listening to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I stopped in the chapter about the first class with Umbridge, and I’m having trouble starting again. I hate Umbridge with a passion; it’s really hard to listen when she gaslights and torments Harry.
Watching: In those quiet post-New Year’s evenings, we watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, then the bonus disk about making the film, and finished off with The Martian. Both were gifts to Mr. Bookwyrm. We had seen both in the theaters, of course, but Robin hadn’t seen The Martian (though she had listened to the book); it was fun to see it with her.

They are indeed! The Stephen Fry version (sold in the UK) is also good, but I prefer Jim Dale.

I am glad you didn’t run into any problems traveling home. The weather has been frightful in much of the U.S. I hope you are enjoying your reading. So glad you didn’t have any problems coming back home! The Man’s parents didn’t get to come for their visit. :/ It’s nice to come back home and not have to “clean” anything but just take care of unpacking yourself and getting back to usual. Have a great week!

Glad you were able to get home safely without any weather issues.
I read Wintersong last year and had mixed feelings about it. It seemed to have all the elements I would love. But somehow I didn’t love it. I just wanted… more. I’m still up in the air if I will pick up the second book. I’ll be interested to see your thoughts on it since I seem to be very much in the minority.
