My Week
Happy Palm Sunday, if you celebrate it!
I spent most of the week resting, reading, and working. . . but not enough of it working, darn it. I have a lot to finish this week, and rehearsals or church services from Wednesday through Saturday nights and Easter morning. It’s the busiest week of the year for us church musicians.
Mr. Bookwyrm was on travel all week, so I was very glad to have him home again on Friday evening. And doubly glad, because early in the week, Chrome stopped working, followed by Firefox, and I was reduced to using Internet Explorer (which for some reason is slow and clunky.) Mr. Bookwyrm worked his magic and figured out what the problem was (something had gone awry in one of our firewall/network security apps) and I am back up and running on Chrome—thank goodness!
Robyn’s graduation announcements have arrived. I can hardly believe it—in under a month she’ll be a college graduate! She has also been chosen to deliver one of the student baccalaureate presentations. We’re very proud of her, and can’t wait to spend some time with her after graduation and again in late June. And I’m looking forward to helping her put a website together for her tutoring business.

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished rereading The Moor, the fourth book in Laurie R. King’s Mary Russell & Sherlock Holmes series, and also reread Nora Roberts’s Cousins O’Dwyer trilogy and Mary Jo Putney’s The Marriage Spell. I’m currently reading The Lost Kingdom of Bamarre (Gail Carson Levine; ARC) and rereading Driving Force by Dick Francis (Kindle; own.)
Listening to: I finally finished Made in America (yay!) and started listening to Hidden Figures.
Watching: I re-watched Five Red Herrings, a Lord Peter Wimsey miniseries starring Ian Carmichael, and The Body in the Library from the Miss Marple series starring Joan Hickson, who I still maintain is the best Miss Marple of all time. And last night, we watched Thirteen Days (about the Cuban missile crisis), which I had never seen before.

O Jerusalem is a favorite of mine, and I finally gave in and bought the Kindle version. (I’m working toward having the whole series on Kindle as well as in print.) Mrs. Queen Takes the Train was charming (my review); I read a library copy, so when it went on sale, I thought I might like to read it again sometime. And I discovered I didn’t have the first Spindle Cove romance, so when A Night to Surrender went on sale, I grabbed that one too.

I had issues with Firefox and had to use Explorer too. I switched from it some time ago because of the slowness. At least it worked. LOL How wonderful that your daughter is graduating college and was chosen to give the speech. They sure grow up fast on us, don’t they!

Bittersweet, yes. Until now, we’ve had her for summers and Christmas vacations, at least. After this, it’s anyone’s guess how often we’ll see her, although for the coming year or so, she’ll be living with my parents, so we’ll visit a couple of times during the year, and have her come home once or twice when she can.

I’m glad I got Chrome back, too! Sarah MacLean is fun. I haven’t read many of her books yet, but I liked the first Scandals & Scoundrels book, so I’m looking forward to this one.
