Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on my Summer TBR List

June 18, 2013 summer reads, TBR list, Top Ten Tuesday 22

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week’s topic is Top Ten Fifteen Books on my Summer TBR List.

Some of these books have been out for months or more and I just haven’t gotten to them, even though I really wanted to.  Others are coming out later this summer (mostly really late this summer.)  They run the gamut from MG to adult and span at least three of my favorite genres.

As usual, the books are in no particular order.  Oh, and there are way more than 10.  (What can I say? I like to read!)

 Already published:

Forthcoming (by Sept. 21)

* or #9, if you count The Fire Rose, which was published under a different publisher and 6 years before the others.

I’ll take your advice into consideration!

Actually, I can’t read it first; I started Steadfast just last night, because both my daughter and I want to read it, and it has to go back to the library in 2 weeks. But hopefully Scarlet will be second!

The Arrangement is one I REALLY want to read. Have the Jayne Castle books always featured Krentz’s name on them? I could have sworn it was always “Castle” since her Quick novels never have JAK on them.

I’m really eager for The Arrangement, too. I love Mary Balogh! Though I was a tiny bit disappointed in The Proposal. I had built up really high hopes for Gwen’s story, and it just didn’t quite measure up. I enjoyed it, but not as much as some of her other books.

As for Krentz’s name going on her Castle books, I’m not sure when that started. Probably during the Arcane Society novels, since the series ran through all three of her (current) pen names.

      Thanks for stopping by!

Clearly we have similar taste in romance! 🙂

Yeah, I just couldn’t stop at 10 this time. There were too many that were really close on the “how much do I want to read this” scale.

I limited my top ten list to just books coming out this summer since my last week’s beach read list are the books on my tbr older book list…lol!

A great list. And it’s given me some more books to add to my lists!

I’m glad you found some to add to your list!

I limited my TTT beach/vacation reads post to stuff I had already read, so that meant I could include some older books on here. Not that old, though. All but Kat, Incorrigible came out in the last year or so. And that one is on there because I just found out about the series, and I want to start with the first one — but the third came out this year.

Some good ones here! I’ll be adding The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates to my list- it looks cute and I think my kids will love it. Thanks!

That one looks like so much fun! Putting in on this list was a stretch, since it won’t be released until Sept. 10 — but summer doesn’t officially end until Sept 21, so I figured it still counts.

      I’m glad you stopped by!

Nice! I have THE NEWCOMER on my list and will OF COURSE be looking forward to THE HERO as well. I love Robyn Carr 🙂

I’m eager to read it, but it keeps getting displaced by ARCs I’ve agreed to review. I love getting ARCs, don’t get me wrong, but I am still figuring out to squeeze in the books I want to read but wasn’t approved for!

Castle is an autobuy for me; she’s one of my in-the-mood-for-something-light-and fun authors. I’ve read all the recent ones (since the beginning of the Ghost Hunters series), so I’ll just have to wait for the new one in late summer.
