October 28, 2013 In the Dragon's Eye 4

The Book of Life, the third book in Deborah Harkness’s All Souls Trilogy which began with A Discovery of Witches, will be published on July 25, 2014, in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom.  The book will be available in hardback, e-book, and audiobook formats, and is now available for pre-order.  The announcement was made on Harkness’s website and Facebook page.
(Real cover not yet revealed)
The catalog copy (book description), now up on Goodreads and at major retailers, reads:
After traveling through time in Shadow of Night, the second book in Deborah Harkness’s enchanting series, historian and witch Diana Bishop and vampire scientist Matthew Clairmont return to the present to face new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home at Sept-Tours, they reunite with the cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches—with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency. In the trilogy’s final volume, Harkness deepens her themes of power and passion, family and caring, past deeds and their present consequences. In ancestral homes and university laboratories, using ancient knowledge and modern science, from the hills of the Auvergne to the palaces of Venice and beyond, the couple at last learn what the witches discovered so many centuries ago.

Yes, I think I’d better schedule a day off when it comes out! Armitage would have been wonderful as Matthew about 10 years ago, but I’m not sure — I think he might be just a trifle too old for the part now. Benedict Cumberbatch is starting to grow on me, though I don’t know how well he would handle the romantic side.
