These articles were worth reading; they came to my attention in the last week or so:

“E-books settlement talks advancing — sources” by Diane Bartz, Reuters

“The Missing 20th Century: How Copyright Protection Makes Books Vanish” by Rebecca J. Rosen, The Atlantic

“The Rise of e-reading” at PewInternet — a long and thorough report, with lots of data.

“eBooks: Is Agency Pricing Good or Bad?” by Rich Adin on his An American Editor blog.  A different take on the benefits of agency pricing.

“Backing Up Your eBooks” by Jane at Dear Author

“The Next Time Someone Says the Internet Killed Reading Books, Show Them This Chart” by Alexis Madrigal, The Atlantic.  A chart showing the percentage of adults currently reading a book (at the time of the survey) over several decades, beginning in 1949.

Finally, and just because it’s so cool, here’s a link to the first official T-shirt for the Hobbit movie.
