Deborah Harkness’s New “Book of Life” in 2014

September 8, 2013 In the Dragon's Eye 4

Huzzah!  According to a tweet about 10 hours ago from Bookmarks, the ongoing book festival taking place in North Carolina this weekend, Deborah Harkness announced that the third book in the All Souls Trilogy will be called The Book of Life and will be released in 2014!  I haven’t able to confirm this from Ms. Harkness’s website or Facebook page yet, but she did retweet the Bookmarks13 tweet, so it appears to be factual.

The Book of Life will be a sequel to Harkness’s bestelling novels A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night.

Updated to add:  From Ms. Harkness’s website, in August 2013:

“. . . we’re at the stage where Book #3 has enough shape that we can decide on the title. You can’t really do that until you’re sure what the book is *really* about. As soon as the publisher and I reach agreement, I promise to share it with you. Won’t it be a relief to stop calling it Book #3??”

She goes on to write that after that, they will choose a preliminary date for publication, though that may be subject to change. Apparently they have now chosen the title, though not necessarily a publication date, other than sometime next year.

I’m so excited for this book, I was pretty much flailing when I heard the news yesterday! lol

Btw, love your new layout here! 🙂

I know; I was practically squeeing. My husband, bless him, was as uncomprehendingly supportive as I am when he talks about technical stuff at work (he’s a programmer, and I don’t get over half of what he’s saying.)

Thank you, I’m glad you like the new design!

My husband is a technical writer, and I’m with you there. He puts up with my outbursts when I’m reading, but I think he hears less than half of what I’m saying, and we are even also. I am re-reading Discovery of Witches and then re-reading Shadow of Night. I am in the clouds over the third book and am anxiously awaiting it. The new design is perfect, btw.
