This Week’s Articles — 7/29 to 8/04/2012

August 4, 2012 self-publishing, YA books 0

Here’s what I’ve been reading around the Internet this week:
Big Books, Tiny Voices posted “What’s Next: Over 60 Upcoming Young Adult Book-to-Movie Adaptations.”  Browse their list to see if your favorite YA fantasy book (plus a few that fall in the children’s or adult category) has a movie in the works.
Sam Humphrey speculates on the future of interactive e-books in “What can digital do for us? Think big.” (FutureBook)
Bob Stein thinks publishers should move toward making books social “Bob Stein: ‘Build conversations around books'” (Philip Jones, FutureBook)
“Four self-published authors on New York Times ebook bestseller list”, according to an article by Allison Flood in The Guardian.  That’s four authors, but a total of seven books, since romance writer Bella Andre currently has three titles in the top twenty-five.  Self-publishing is clearly working for some authors — and their readers.
Where do people get their book recommendations and books?  For the majority of us, it isn’t the library.  “Libraries and ebooks” (Krystal D’Costa. Scientific American’s Anthropology in Practice blog)
“ABA and Barnes and Noble File Motion to Comment on DOJ Case“.  The two organizations are seeking to file an amicus brief.  (Dianna Dilworth, GalleyCat)
