Sunday Post — 7/28/13

July 28, 2013 Sunday Post, Sunday Salon 18

The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  It’s a chance to share news.  A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Another busy week.  Our daughter came home from the Alpha writers’ workshop on cloud nine.  She had a an awesome time, and learned an incredible amount.  I don’t know when I’ve ever seen her so excited!  She has already submitted her Alpha story for publication.

With less than two weeks until we leave to take her to college (visiting family on the way out and the way back), there’s a lot to do: laundry and shopping and packing and training for her 3-week wilderness backpacking orientation trip. (Yes, really.  It counts as a block course.)  Not to mention I’m still trying to get far enough ahead on the blog to have some posts scheduled for while I’m gone.  I’ve got a few things scheduled out that far already, and I’m trying to get several more posts done before we leave.

Have a great week, everybody!

Busy, busy! Don’t forget to just enjoy your time with your daughter before she goes away. 🙂

Great week! I of course got the sync books too. I’m listening to the False Prince because I got it from the library like the day before Sync released it, and I’m enjoying it so far, but I’m so glad they did Grave Mercy because I LOVED that book. Going to check out your review of Gameboard of the Gods now. Have a great week!

Great haul! I’ll have to add some of those to my TBR list on GR. (Never enough books on there, right?!) I have been trying to schedule things ahead of time for the blog when I go away or am super busy too and it has really made things so much less stressful. Happy reading and have a great week! (And I hope you have a good time on your trip!)

Omigosh, my TBR list is so big I’ve started to break it into two: to-read and someday. To-read will be for books I plan to read in the next year or so. Someday is for books that I’d really like to read if I can ever find the time!

Scheduling ahead may lessen the stress on the trip (I hope) but it’s sure adding to it now! I am really going to have to work hard just to read all the books I’ve committed to review. Why do I request so many books?

Good luck with getting ahead with the blog. I hope you and your family have a safe journey, and your daughter has lots of fun!
It looks like you’ve got some great books and audiobooks this week, I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks, Becki! It’s going to be a bittersweet trip — great to see family and spend time with our daughter, but tough say goodbye for four months. (Ouch. But her school is too far away to come home for weekends or even Thanksgiving.)

Isn’t that a gorgeous dress on Sometimes a Rogue?! As for Alpha, I’m hoping ‘Robin’ will have time to write about her experiences, but she’s pretty busy with getting ready for school.

You got some good books. I forgot about Sync until I saw your post – so glad I did since I’ve been wanting to read The False Prince for some time. Thanks for stopping by my blog too! 🙂
