Sunday Post – 3/02/14

March 2, 2014 Sunday Post 14

The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  It’s a chance to share news.  A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I spent most of the week getting my hindquarters kicked by my current indexing project.  OK, it’s not that bad — the book itself is interesting — but it’s very long and every concept is related to at least three others, so it’s challenging to index. And I wish I had at least another week… but that will be the week my daughter is on spring break, and I’d rather not be working while she’s here. So I will be working a lot this week while my husband is on travel. I’ve got a few reviews saved up for this week and next, but don’t expect to see me around the blogosphere much.  Sorry! I’ll miss you guys, and I’ll be back in a week or two, I promise.

I am taking some time out from working over the weekend.  Mr. Bookwyrm took me to a Kathy Mattea concert in D.C. last night. She was wonderful!  And my choruses start rehearsing this afternoon for the spring concert.  I’ve been missing my kids, and I can’t wait to get started.

Last week on the blog:

Hi, I’m an ex-teen blogger too (just read your Gender in Fiction post…), Sayin’ hi to your cute, hmm, dragon? 🙂
I didn’t know there was a novella version of The Dead Man Folly. And I call myself a huge Christie fan…
Looking forward to exploring more of your blog!
    Have a great week :).

Dragon, bookwyrm… he’ll answer to either! As for the Christie, it’s not really Dead Man’s Folly, but a short story she wrote for a local charity. Though she may have reused a general plot line; she did that once in a while.

And welcome to The Bookwyrm’s Hoard!

Good luck on your project. Oh I’m so jealous that you got Fangirl! I loved Eleanor & Park. Hope you enjoy it!

I preordered the second book, after deciding I couldn’t wait for the library copy. I had actually already read the library copy of Dark Witch, but when it went on sale for $2.99 for Kindle, I snatched it. It’s the sort of book I may want to re-read, especially by the time book 3 comes out next winter.

Oh, Kathy Mattea! I’m jealous. Maybe I’ll pull out her CD and listen to it today.

You got lots of yummy books, I hope you enjoy them and good luck with the indexing project.

I’ve been wanting to start the Bess Crawford series by Charles Todd, so when the first one went on sale for Kindle, well… how could I resist? And I love Crombie’s mysteries, even if I am behind on the series at this point.
