COYER Seasons: Fall Scavenger Hunt

I’m joining the COYER Seasons: Fall Scavenger Hunt challenge! Like the Summer challenge, books of all prices and formats count. BUT…this season, your books have to meet one of the 50 Scavenger Hunt prompts. And there are some fun ones! The challenge runs from October 1 through December 22 (the last day to post reviews to the review linky.)

I’m sure that not all my books will fit the prompts, but with over two and a half months to work with, I should be able to come up with at least 4 or 5 books that do. So that’s my goal: read and review five qualifying books. I’ve listed a few ideas below the rules, but I’m not limiting myself to them.

Rules

  1. Format & price don’t matter anymore. You can still read your eBooks and Audiobooks, but now you can also read physical books. They can be free, they can be $50. They can be Kindle Unlimited, borrowed, etc.
  2. Your books have to show up on the scavenger hunt list.  You can read an unlimited number of books per scavenger hunt item. NOTE: You can read more than one book for any item, but you can only count each book toward one item/prompt.
  3. Announce your participation! This can be a blog post (or if you don’t have a blog – Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Goodreads, etc.) If you want to list books you would like to read, that’s great, but not necessary. The point is to let everyone know you’re committed to COYER Fall, maybe share some goals, and help spread the word. Not sure how to do your post? Check out this example from a previous COYER.
  4. Link up! Link that post (not just your blog homepage) to the linky in todays post.
  5. Review & Link Reviews! Your review may be on your blog, Goodreads, etc. Link the review to the Review Linky (the same linky as Winter, Spring,  and Summer but Michelle will start pulling winners after Summer reviews). When you post your review to the linky, identify which number it is from the scavenger hunt list. So use the normal format but add the item number at the end: Your Name @ Blog (if applicable): Book Title Scavenger Hunt item # (e.g.,  “Michelle @ Because Reading: Twilight #2).
  6. Follow & share reviews on Twitter and Instagram Use #COYER for on your posts and look for tweets with the hashtag or #COYERinstaq for Instagram
  7. Visit Each Other, Chat & Have Fun!

Books I might read for the challenge

All of these meet at least one prompt. Some meet more than one, so I’ll have to decide which prompt to choose.

  • Six Crimson Cranes (Elizabeth Lim) — number in the title; fairytale retellings; diverse main character; animal featured prominently
  • A Rush of Wings (Laura E. Weymouth) — fairytale retellings; animal featured prominently
  • All the Feels (Olivia Dade) — cartoonish cover
  • The Conductors (Nicole Glover) — diverse main character; first in series
  • Briarheart (Mercedes Lackey) — fairytale retelling
  • The Becoming (Nora Roberts) — dragon or castle on cover
  • Gilded (Marissa Meyer) — dragon or castle on cover; fairytale retelling
  • Daughter of the Deep (Rick Riordan) — ocean or water on cover
  • A Study in Death (Anna Lee Huber) — DEATH in title; historical with historically accurate clothing on cover

COYER is a great community, too. There’s a Facebook group and a book club, though you don’t have to participate in any of them if you don’t want to. But you would be welcome!
