Take Control of Your TBR Pile — challenge sign-up

January 20, 2016 Challenges 2

I’m joining Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s March Take Control of Your TBR Pile challenge. This one goes really well with my own The Backlist Reader challenge. Basically, for the month of March you concentrate on reading from your TBR pile. Kimba doesn’t specify, but she implies that the TBR pile is books you actually own (though it can include older ARCs.) Any book qualifies if it was published before March 1, 2016. (No novellas or short stories, though – book-length books only.) There’s a full list of rules and how to participate on Kimba’s website — just click the icon above.

I’m too much of a mood reader to pick specific books for the challenge this far in advance. But since I have two bookcases full of unread books, and hundreds of Kindle books, I don’t think it will be a problem finding something to read! I’ve checked my review schedule, and even if I can’t clear it entirely for March by reading ahead, I should still be able to read at least 5 10 books from my TBR pile during that month. So that’s what I’m setting as my goal. [ETA: Since I’ve read 3 books for the challenge in the first three days of March, I’ve bumped my goal to 10 books.]

If you’d like to join in, pop over to Kimba’s, read the rules, and create a goals/sign-up post — and I’ll see you in March!

It’s always good to read your own books…although being addicted to the library like I am can make it a little hard not to stray. Good luck with this challenge! I hope you exceed your goal. 🙂
