10 Days ’til Christmas! — Sunday Post, 12/15/2019

December 15, 2019 Sunday Post 17

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

Last Week

I’m in Utah, visiting my dad and stepmom. Mr. Bookwyrm had to stay home to work, but we’ll be together again by next weekend. As you can see from the photo, I brought my travel spinning wheel with me. Unfortunately, I also had to bring some work that’s due tomorrow. I tried to finish it before I left, but I didn’t have time. So I’m working hard, trying to finish in time to have some free days with my folks.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I finished rereading Hercule Poirot’s Christmas by Agatha Christie for the Reading the Detectives book group on Goodreads. Then I reread The Game for the Laurie R. King Virtual Book Club. That led me on to a reread of Locked Rooms, the next book in the series, which I reviewed back in 2017. (Click titles for Goodreads or my review links.)

Listening: The Wilhelm Conspiracy, the second book in the “Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James” series. Except that to be honest, I haven’t listened to it at all this week.

Watching: Not a thing; I haven’t had time.

It always feels like such a rush trying to get ready for Christmas. I hope your preparations went as well as ours did, and that you had a wonderful Christmas!

Crafts and reading and good food, and games and laughter and much love. I’m having a wonderful Christmas! I hope you are, too. The weather in Utah was cold and snowy. Here in New Mexico, it snowed on Christmas Eve, but it’s sunny and cold today (Dec. 26, Boxing Day.) We’re due for more snow soon. Back home in Virginia, it’s in the 50s, so I am loving the cold and snow!

I hope you and your daughter had a lovely Christmas.

I hope you get to Enjoy your family time and good luck getting the work finished quickly! I hope it doesn’t suck up too much of your visiting time. I think it’s too cool that you have a travel spinning wheel!!

    Have a great week!

The job did suck up most of my week with my dad and stepmom, darn it. But it was done before I had to leave for my mom and stepdad’s house. Mr. Bookwyrm joined me there; Robin lives with my parents, and my sister is in the same town, so we’re having a wonderful time. I hope you and your family had a great Christmas!

The traveling spinning wheel looks so cool! I haven’t ever seen one but I am intrigued!

Have a great week and happy reading!

It folds down so the wheel is flat against the treadles, and it’s only 22 inches tall and 15 inches wide, so it fits in an airplane overhead compartment. And it spins really well, too.

Thank you, Nicole! I used the wheel at my dad’s house, but haven’t yet gotten it out here at my mom’s, because things have been so busy with family and wrapping and so on. I plan to spin tomorrow (Dec. 27), though, when things have calmed down a little!
