The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
A very happy Easter to those celebrating it this week, and a happy Pesach to those celebrating Passover!
Spring is truly here! The weather is lovely and the flowering trees and bushes have been beautiful. While we have had stormy days, we’ve also had days of glorious sunshine and perfect temperatures (which for me means about 62–72 F.)
Poor Mr. Bookwyrm was under the weather all week with either a bad cold or really bad allergies. He had no voice, so I ended up singing the litany of saints at church last night. Today we’re spending a quiet day, dyeing eggs, fixing a simplified version of our traditional Easter dinner, and reading, blogging, crafting, and just hanging out.

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas, and Dick Francis’s Break In, which I started rereading last week, followed by the sequel, Bolt. (Reviews to come.) Decision at Doona (Anne McCaffrey) went on sale for Kindle, so I bought it and promptly reread it. I’m close to finishing Snow White and Rose Red, a fairytale retelling by Patricia Wrede that I read back in the early 1990s and haven’t read since. First Rider’s Call is on semi-hiatus for the time being.
Listening to: I finished A Wrinkle in Time. I love the book and have read it many times, but this was my first time listening to the audiobook. Hope Davis does a pretty good job with the narration, although there were some places I would have emphasized phrases differently, or given a different emotional coloring to the voice. (I have read this book aloud at least once, to Robin, and possibly also to one of my classes back when I was a teacher.)
Watching: We took a break from Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 this week, but did watch a few episodes of Eureka Season 3. We also pulled out our Pink Panther DVD set and watched the first two movies. They are dated but still funny.

Purchased for Kindle
Decision at Doona, Cast in Shadow, and A Natural History of Dragons were on sale. The other two I purchased to continue reading a series. I also pre-ordered six of Dick Francis’s early books, which will be released on Kindle on May 2.
