It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

December 22, 2019 Sunday Post 16

Sunday Post – 12/22/2019

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

Last Week

I can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas! Mr. Bookwyrm and I arrived in New Mexico on Thursday evening he from home and I from Utah, where I was visiting my dad and stepmom. It’s great to be here with Robin, my mom and stepdad, and my sister’s family (who live barely a mile away.) We’re looking forward to a lovely Christmas. I still need to get a little shopping done, mostly for stocking stuffers, but most of my gift-buying is done and I have started wrapping gifts. I also have a few gifts to finish making, but those are going to be late.

I wish you all the happiest of holidays: Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice, Yule, or whatever holy day you celebrate!

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I reread Little Women this week, since I hope to see the movie during the holidays. Then I started rereading Little Men. I also read Lady Derring Takes a Lover and started the sequel, Angel in a Devil’s Arms (Julie Anne Long; both ARCs.) (Click titles for Goodreads or my review links.)

Listening: The Wilhelm Conspiracy, the second book in the “Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James” series or I will be, whenever I get back to it. Right now, there’s too much else to occupy my time and my ears… like all the glorious Christmas music playing throughout the house.

Watching: Friday night, we went to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. I have mixed feelings. I liked a lot of the character moments, but some of the plot was… um… really?

Added to the Hoard

Purchased (Kindle, print, or audio)

Click to see on Goodreads or my review: Clean Sweep (both Kindle and Audible); Breath of Earth; Little Men.

Have a great week!

That’s from last year, when we got a LOT of snow here in my parents’ town. They’re at a fairly high elevation, on mesas jutting out from the mountainside, so sometimes they get really good snowfall. This year, it doesn’t look like it will snow while we are here. (Darn it. I like snow.)

I wish you and your family a lovely Christmas!

The photo is from last year; I thought it looked lovely and Christmassy. We got (or rather, my parents’ town got) inundated with snow last year… including at least 18-20 inches on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. It was lovely! I’m hoping for snow this year, too, but it’s not looking likely right now.

The lights in the snow are from last year at my parents’ house. I’m hoping for snow this year, but it’s not looking likely.

I haven’t read Andrews yet, and this looked like a good place to start. 🙂

      Have a happy Christmas!

Thank you, RO! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I’m soaking up the time with my family, so I’m not posting all that many photos at the moment, but I hope to get a few more up over the next week. 🙂
