The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
With schools and colleges either back in session or starting soon, summer vacation is nearly over—even if the temperatures are still high.
We had a wonderful week at my mom & stepdad’s. My sister and brother-in-law live in the same town, so we got together almost everyday to have tea, play cards, talk, and make plans for Christmas break and for after Robin’s graduation.
On Saturday (yesterday) we drove Robin to Arizona for her senior year of college. We’ll be spending today and tomorrow here, helping her get everything in order with the house she and her friends are renting. Then on Tuesday, Mr. Bookwyrm and I will fly home and relieve our faithful house-and-cat-sitter.
Because of all the travel and the fact that I have to start working as soon as I get home, the coming week’s posts are very up in the air. I’ll do my best to get at least a few posts in by the end of the week, and hopefully I’ll be back on track within a week or two. Blogwise, I need a vacation to recover from my vacation!

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: Between family time and the Olympics, I didn’t read much this week, though I did re-read a few more historical romances.
Listening: We listened to a few podcasts on the long drive from my parents’ house to our daughter’s college: a Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me episode; a RadioLab about figure skater Surya Bonali and another about deathwatch beetles.
Watching: More Olympics, but not a lot; I think I’m Olympicked out.

For Review or Review Consideration
Nothing this week!
Purchased for Kindle
As usual, these were all on sale. I’ve read all but A New Hope and Beauty and the Blacksmith, but wanted to own them in Kindle. (I’ve read Lucas’s own novelization of A New Hope, back when it was just called Star Wars, but this one got decent reviews that said it enhanced the movie, so I thought it was worth a try.)
Purchased in print
I can no longer manage the teeny-tiny font in my mass-market copy of Hamilton’s mythology, so when I spotted this one in the library’s bookshop, I grabbed it.
