The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

 My Week

Last Sunday’s concert went really well! I know I say this every time, but I was so proud of my young singers. They knew their music, they watched the conductor (me!), the blend in both groups was lovely, they sang with real feeling, and they were obviously enjoying themselves, which always makes for a better performance.

Since then, I’ve been head-down in an index. I’m keeping this brief, because I’ve got to get the project done and out the door. I’m looking forward to a little less pressure in the next few weeks. I’ll also be paying attention to my shoulder, which hasn’t gotten better; I need to see my doctor and find out what the next step is–probably physical therapy.

I’ll be pretty busy at my college reunion next Saturday and Sunday, so there may or may not be a News & Notes and/or Sunday Post next weekend. I’m looking forward to catching up with friends, wandering around the campus I still see in my dreams, and singing Gilbert & Sullivan with fellow musical theater nerds. Oh, and eating the best honey-whole-wheat donuts in the world. I can’t wait!

What I’m Reading/Watching

What I Should Be Reading: I’m really need to return to Murder on the Flying Scotsman by Carola Dunn (ARC), Someone to Care by Mary Balogh (ARC), and The Underwater Ballroom (anthology ARC). But I’ve still been reading the Celta Heartmates series by Robin D. Owens instead. I finished books 5-8: Heart Quest, Heart Dance, Heart Fate, and Heart Change. 

Listening to: I’m still relistening to Tamora Pierce’s Protector of the Small series, and have made a little more progress on Lady Knight this week.

Watching: We watched The Farthest: Voyager in Space, a PBS documentary about the Voyager spacecraft missions which was quite well done. Mr. Bookwyrm gave me Thor: Ragnarok for Mother’s Day, but we haven’t had a chance to see it yet.

    Glad your concert was a success– sounds like a wonderful time!

    I hear you about too busy to keep up with blogging. I’m trying to get back into it now, though I’m so distracted that it’s an uphill struggle.

    I enjoy hearing how you reread or listen to books that are favorites of yours. I hope to do more rereading in my near future when I can’t concentrate on arcs.

      Thank you, Rita! I really enjoyed the concert — such a joy to work with young people! And rereading is… I can’t even call it a guilty pleasure, because, I don’t feel guilty about it. I love revisiting worlds and characters and stories that I enjoyed in the past.

      Also, it looks like the comment form is still using your old blog address. Could you remind me of your new one so I can stop by?

    Glad your concert went well though I must say I’m not surprised! The books you’re supposed to be reading look great but I’m with you in the struggle to read what is on the schedule. Normally I have no problem but lately I’ve been flirting with a reading rut. Enjoy your college reunion and have a great week!

      Thanks, Katherine! I’ve been in a bit of a new-book rut myself; I often am when I’m stressed out. I wish you a wonderful week as well!

      Thanks, Kimberly! I like the Celta Heartmates series a lot, though the first eight books are better than some of the later ones (as often happens in a long-running series.) One of these days I will actually write reviews for them LOL!

      They were! Mmmmmm! And the G&S sing was fun, though those of us who came didn’t have as many shows in common as I would have liked.

      The reunion was great! I’m looking forward to the next one in 2021, for my “other” cluster. Our college does cluster reunions — 3 classes together, like 92-93-94 or whatever. (Not my years, just an example.) Anyway, I entered with one class, but because I took 5 years, I graduated with a different class. So I go to the reunions for both. Until recently, that meant 1 reunion every 5 years, but then they re-sorted the clusters and split my entry class and actual graduating class apart… so now I have 2 reunions every 5 years, if I want to see as many old friends as possible.
