This Week
You know that ancient curse, “May you live in interesting times”? At this point, I am longing for a few nice, boring years. Like much of the world, I watched in shock, grief, and anger as armed rioters forced their way into the Capitol on Wednesday, their actions seemingly encouraged by the president himself. I’m trying to hold on to hope that our country’s deep divisions can be healed, but Wednesday’s events left me shaken.

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished up the last of Jayne Ann Krentz’s Harmony series with Illusion Town, reread All the Colors of Night (ARC) so I can finally write the review, then read An Extravagant Death by Charles Finch (ARC). But much of my reading time was spent reading the news. (Click title for Goodreads page.)
Listening to: I finished up The Windsor Knot, by S. J. Bennett. I’m not sure which book I want to listen to next, so I made do with a couple of podcasts.
Watching: We watched a few more episodes of Discovery, season 3, and several episodes of Aerial America (because watching scenery requires no emotional energy, and I had little to spare.)
Playing: Carcassonne, Merge Magic, and DragonVale. I still play Pokemon Go, as well.

Violence is never the answer, and 2021 is sadly a continuation of 2020 in many ways. But I do believe in constant prayer. I hope you get a chance to watch Bridgerton which is a fascinating series on Netflix. I’ve found myself unplugging lately and reading or watching tv a little more.
