January 26, 2020 Sunday Post 5

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

Last Week

It’s been an uneventful week. We took down the scene, Christmas tree, and decorations last weekend, and reorganized and pruned some of our other holiday stuff at the same time. (How many Easter baskets do two people really need, after all?) I ran a few errands, including donating a box full of paperbacks for the library booksale. I’m slowly beginning the work of pruning my shelves and decluttering the house.

Today I’m headed to a introductory fiber prep class about an hour from here, to learn a little about preparing fiber (sheep’s wool and angora rabbit fur) for spinning.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I finished Almost Just Friends by Jill Shalvis (ARC). The COYER Buddy Read readathon began last Sunday, so I read Memories and Murder (Lynn Cahoon; ARC) with Stormi of Books, Movies, Reviews, Oh My! I’m currently rereading A City of Bells for the Elizabeth Goudge Book Club readalong (reviewed back in 2015), and Decluttering at the Speed of Life (Dana K. White; library) to spur me on in my decluttering efforts. And I kind of accidentally started His Bride for the Taking, a novella by Tessa Dare. Next up for the COYER Buddy Readathon is A Curse So Dark and Lonely (Brigid Kemmerer; ARC) with Nadene of Totally Addicted to Reading. I started the ARC last year, but got sidetracked and didn’t finish it (even though I really liked it.) So I’m going to start over from the beginning. (Click titles for Goodreads or my review links.)

Listening: I finished an audiobook last week, and haven’t been able to decide which one to start next. I’m dithering between Shades of Milk and Honey, which I’ve read but want to reread before continuing the series; AND WHAT?

Watching: We finished Season 2 of Warehouse 13, and rewatched Avengers: Infinity War on Friday before watching Avengers: Endgame last night.

  1. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I need to read that Lynn Cahoon. I absolutely love her books but I’ve gotten behind. I’m reading one in the Cat Latimer series and then I think I’m going to go over to Memories and Murder. I don’t even want to go through my holiday decorations. The Easter basket situation is very relatable! Have a great a week!

  2. Bea's Book Nook

Oh, the cover for A Curse So Dark and Lonely is so dramatic and eye-catching. I haven’t started my decluttering yet; I need to make some sort of schedule. That should help keep it manageable and actually get accomplished.

Have a good week, and happy reading!

Well you have some great reads! If I wasn’t so messed up with house projects I’d say let’s buddy read something since we have some similar tastes. I think it is great your are decluttering. I finally have been able to do it with the move. Before I always saved everything “in case I need it” and I’m done with that now.

Have an amazing week with some good books!
