January 31, 2021 Sunday Post 6

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

This Week

It’s been mostly a working week — and a working weekend. And work is picking up, which is nice. I’m booked through the end of April, with only a brief break in early March.

We have signed up to be on the list for vaccination whenever we are eligible. I hope that will be in the next month or so. If you are eligible for whatever reason, I hope you get your vaccine soon.

We’re expecting between 1 and 6 inches of snow by Tuesday, probably with some rain or ice mixed in. We’ve had a brief dusting once or twice this winter, including on Christmas Day, but nothing substantial.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I finished The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes by Leonard Goldberg, which I buddy read with Tarissa of In the Bookcase. And I reread two Nora Roberts novels, Northern Lights and Whiskey Beach (reviewed 2016.) I’m still reading Wild Rain by Beverly Jenkins, as a buddy read with Sophia Rose of the Delighted Reader blog. (Click title for Goodreads page or my review.)

Listening to: I don’t have an audiobook at the moment, but I did listen to a couple of podcast episodes: Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me, and Tea and Strumpets.

Watching: Aerial Britain and Aerial New Zealand, plus Stephen Colbert.

Playing: Carcassonne, Merge Magic, DragonVale, Pokemon Go, the NYT daily crossword and some of their other games.

We got some snow too but it doesn’t really stick. It’s raining and puddly in our yard today. I hope you get your vaccination that soon. I am in the last group really and they are on the first. I did sign up for an email but I expect it will be summer before they get things together here. Enjoy your new reads!

Woot woot, Tea Dragon! I love that series.

We’ll be getting vaccinated as soon as we are able also, but since our state seems to have switched to strictly age-based without any high risk considerations it will probably be longer than we had originally thoughts. Whatever. We’ll get them as soon as we can, and stay home in the meantime! (And afterwards for a while, too.)

We had a little snow last week then opened up our windows to the sun this week. I hear it will be cold again soon, but oh well. I don’t know when we’ll be eligible for a vaccine and if one will be available then… The Frances Brody books caught my eye in your book haul, I love the vintage covers and I see they take place in Yorkshire ^^ Take care 🙂
