Last Week
The past week has been rough for all of us here in the US. Election week tension and uncertainty were compounded by alarming spikes in coronavirus cases. For me, yesterday’s news of Biden’s projected election brought some relief and hope. Above all, I hope we can find reconciliation as a nation, and move forward on the pressing issues of today.
On the personal and blog level, I finally got a few reviews written and posted this week. The weather has been gorgeous; I hope to get out for a walk today. My allergies have been a bit bothersome, but not too bad. (Does anyone else get anxious whenever they get congested these days?) I made some progress on my spinning project, and started knitting a scarf/shawlette using some of my handspun. For the next few weeks, I will be concentrating on finishing handmade gifts, and doing my Christmas shopping. I plan to do it all online this year, and I want to get it done as early as I can, because I expect there will be shipping delays.

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished the fourth MacKade Brothers book, The Fall of Shane MacKade, by Nora Roberts, and read Boone, the forthcoming Eternity Springs/MacBrides of Texas romance by Emily March (ARC.) The latter, combined with election-week tension, made me want to reread the Eternity Springs series, or at least my favorites from it, so I went back to the beginning and reread Angel’s Rest, Hummingbird Lake, and Heartache Falls. I may continue that series reread later, but I am still rereading The Duke and I for a Bridgertons group read on Instagram (I’m a little behind.) As soon as I finish it, I need to reread the next two.
Listening: I listened to some podcasts, mostly Harry Potter and the Sacred Text.
Watching: We started a rewatch of the Harry Potter movies on Halloween. Last night, we finished Order of the Phoenix, so there are three more to go. We also watched Harris’s and Biden’s speeches last night, which I found uplifting and moving.

I started my Christmas shopping since most will be doing it on-line I have a feeling a lot of packages will be late. I am sort of freaking out. lol
My Allergies are killing me, I can’t breath out of my nose. I really am going to have to go to the doctors to see if he can give me anything. I can’t wait anymore, I want to breath again lol

I was relieved by the Biden/Harris win, although slightly disappointed it wasn’t more of a landslide. I am very excited to have a woman in the White House. I think you are smart to get started on everything for the holidays early. I don’t know if we will do very much. I’m thankful to have my outside stuff complete so I can move to those indoor projects now. Stay well and happy reading!
