November 17, 2019 Sunday Post 10

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

Last Week

I turned in an index on Friday, and I have the coming week off. Well, sort of. It’s a chance to catch up on things I was putting off while I was working. But it will be nice to have a break, and maybe a little more time for spinning, knitting, and reviewing.

The concert is next weekend. I can’t believe it’s that time already. I hope today’s rehearsals go well. I think we’ll be all right, even if all three choruses — children, youth, and adults — are smaller than usual this fall.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I’ve been on a binge read of Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters series for the last couple of weeks, but finally caught up to where I started the series. This week, I read The Betrayed, The Silenced, and The Hidden (my review) — the last two were actually rereads. I may read The Forgotten someday; it’s the only one I still haven’t read (I think), but it’s got some sort of zombies in it, and I don’t like zombies, so I’ve been putting it off. (For years.)

I also read Twist of Fate, a just-released Heartbreaker Bay novella by Jill Shalvis. And I finally finished The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Becky Chambers), which I started for #ReadForGrace. It was very good, and I’m looking forward to reading the next one sometime soon. Last night, I finished The Vanishing by Jayne Ann Krentz (ARC), due out in January. (Click titles for Goodreads links.)

Listening: I am listening to The Last Moriarty, the first book in Charles Veley’s “Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James” series.

Watching: Warehouse 13, which Robin gave us for Christmas. So far, we really like it. We’re about 5 episodes into Season 1, and it ran for 5 seasons, so we’ve got plenty to keep us going for a while.

I hope your concert goes well, Lark, and that you get to catch up on some of your projects. My husband and I are re-watching Warehouse 13 and I’ve found I’ve forgotten a lot of it. I love the covers of the Lady Darby series and Navigating the Stars looks like it might be good. I’ll have to take a look at some of these books!

Hope you have a great week!

Yay for a week to work on things you choose. Good luck with the concert. I am stuck where I was in Krewe of Hunters. I want to read that Sherlock Holmes story. I am not sure I can get audio at the library – I have it borrowed through KU right now. Have a wonderful week and the next one should be shorter with Thanksgiving too!

Glad you enjoyed your binge read and best of luck for the concert next weekend. I don’t know where the year is going, either… I’m intrigued by Navigating the Stars! Have a good week, Lark:)
