February 28, 2021 Sunday Post 5

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

This Week

Can you believe it’s already the end of February… and about a year since the start of the quarantimes? I know we’re still in for months more of this, maybe even a year or more, depending on how things go with vaccinations and variants. But Mr. Bookwyrm and I got our first shots this week, and that feels like maybe things are turning the corner.

On Friday, I started getting lots of emails from a security plugin for the blog. Somebody—or more probably, some bot—has been trying to login to my blog, probably to hack it or steal data. Hopefully, they won’t succeed. But if if you had to wait to load the site, that may be why: the site has busy fending off attacks since Thursday night.

The monthly COYER Book Club is this afternoon, and for once I have read one of the books: Beach Read by Emily Henry. It will be fun to check in with everyone and see what they thought.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I finished Last Writes, a collection of short stories by Catherine Aird which was one of my Christmas gifts from Mr. Bookwyrm. Other than that, I continued my binge-rereading of Jayne Ann Krentz books, finishing All Night Long, River Road, Deep Waters, and Sharp Edges. I’m currently rereading When All the Girls Have Gone. I have previously reviewed all of these except Last Writes and Deep Waters, which I’ll try to review in the coming month. (Links take you to my review if there is one, and to the Goodreads page if there isn’t.)

Listening to: A lot of podcasts this week: Smart Bitches, Trashy Podcast; Lingthusiasm; Side Door; Twenty Thousand Hertz; 99% Invisible; SheepSpot Podcast.

Playing: Carcassonne, Merge Magic, DragonVale, Pokemon Go, the NYT daily crossword (but not daily) and two of their other games.

Added to the Hoard

Purchased (Kindle, print, or audio)

Print: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

Kindle: Polaris Rising; The Suffragette Scandal; Bitterburn; Beauty and Beastly; First Comes Marriage; The Space Between Worlds; The Last Chance Christmas Ball; A Little Bit Witchy; The Sound of Stars Audiobooks (Audible, Libro.fm, or Chirp): (Click title for Goodreads page or my review.)

Stay safe, stay healthy, stay kind… and may you find books a haven in the coming weeks.

That’s so frustrating about the security attacks. Hopefully they will be resolved quickly. I’m hoping that things start to calm down at some point soon. My daughter just got her 2nd vaccination and we just discovered my husband is eligible so I feel like there’s a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel. I love the look of all the Jayne Ann Krentz books! I’d love to do a binge read of her books soon. Have a great week!

Like you, I can’t believe it’s March already, and I’m scratching my head wondering where February went?(lol) I remember reading Krentz so much back in the day, and don’t know why I stopped. I haven’t been listening to any podcasts lately, but need to get back into it. Seems like more and more people are podcasting vs blogging these days. Either way, I’ve been behind(lol), but I have been doing more reading and exercising lately. Hope the computer matter is resolved. What a headache. Be safe and stay well. Hugs, RO
