The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

My Week

I can’t believe it’s already November. Where did the year go?! I feel like I have gotten nothing done. Which isn’t true, strictly speaking, but I’m… kind of burnt out and feeling meh, and I’m finding it hard to stay focused on work. Or reviewing books, for that matter. Mr. Bookwyrm has been working too hard. We both need a vacation and a change of venue. We are really looking forward to visiting family next month!

I plan to get my flu shot this coming week, and probably my Covid booster early next week. Mr. Bookwyrm got his booster this weekend (which really wiped him out!) So we’ll be in good shape to see our family next month.

I have a lot of work to finish up this weekend, so I’m not going to post my book haul today. (It takes too long to get all the links and images, and I add the books to my Goodreads shelves as part of the same process, so that adds more time.) I’ll post a two-week book haul next weekend.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I finished rereading Blood Magick, the third book in the Cousins O’Dwyer trilogy by Nora Roberts. I read and enjoyed Someone Perfect by Mary Balogh (ARC), which comes out at the end of the month. I’m slowly reading through The World According to Mister Rogers, a collection of thoughts and wisdom pulled mostly from his letters, articles, and speeches. It was a birthday gift from my parents, because I loved Mister Rogers so much as a child. (And honestly, I still do!)

Listening to: I finished up The Firebird, by Susanna Kearsley (for the second time), and decided to keep listening to her Jacobite books, so I bought and started listening to A Desperate Fortune, which I had read a few years ago on Kindle. After that, I’ll either listen to Bellewether, or go back to Anna Lee Huber’s Lady Darby series.

    I’m feeling you with the burnt out feeling and Jason like Mr. Bookwyrm has been working too hard. I think we all should take a month off and relax and try to remember what fun is again! I think I could sleep for most of a month! I have my Covid booster scheduled for this past Friday but I was still feeling congested and blah so I rescheduled for next week. I need The World According to Mr. Rogers. That sounds lovely. Have a great week!

    We’ve had all our flu and booster and are staying home, but masking if we go anywhere. I can’t believe it’s November either. I’ve been working one project or another non-stop for months. I look forward to some time to relax now. Of course, my head is always full of ideas so we will see.

    I hear you about needing a vacation. We finally decided that the risk was worth the escape (we’ve both been vaccinated and had our flu shots, and have been masking) and took a short getaway. It was SO needed! We really needed the relaxation. (And post-trip tests are COVID negative, so that’s good too.)
