This Week
The crocuses are out, so spring is officially on its way. And today is Pi Day! We got a frozen apple pie when we did the grocery pick-up this week, so we’ll be having pie tonight in celebration.
Work has been rough this week. I haven’t had time for blogging; I’ve barely had time to read, spin, or knit. Yesterday I gave a program for my Spinners and Weaver’s Guild meeting on how to use Ravelry. (On Zoom, naturally.)

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: I reread the Complete Arrows Trilogy (aka the Queen’s Own trilogy) by Mercedes Lackey, comprised of Arrows of the Queen, Arrow’s Flight, and Arrow’s Fall. I have a feeling I’ll be bingeing most of the Valdemar novels this spring. After more than 30 years, the author is finally writing a series on the founding of Valdemar—the origin story I’ve been waiting for all this time. The first book comes out this summer, and I have already pre-ordered it.
Listening to: I started The Shell Seekers, by Rosamunde Pilcher. I haven’t read it in 20 years, and was delighted to discover that the audiobook is narrated by Hayley Atwell. I also listened to one or two podcasts, but as I said, I haven’t had much free time.

Hope you get some time to enjoy your favorite hobbies soon. 🙂 Those crocuses look beautiful. It warmed up here and the flowers were coming out but now we’re supposed to have a week of snow. Spring will come eventually.

I love seeing the spring flowers blooming now. One of these I’ll have to make pie. We can’t just buy it now with the need for gluten free, although Whole Foods has stuff, as I recall it’s pretty spendy. Enjoy your new reads!

Yay pi day! I actually remembered to bake a (mini) pie for pi day this year, so that was good. (Mini pie because due to the weirdness that was last year’s Pandemic Christmas, I had leftover pie makings tucked away in the freezer. Just enough for a mini pie!)

Oh the flowers are beautiful! My daffodils started blooming and I went out and cut some this weekend. I’m so glad I did because we had a huge storm last night and I’m sure they would have all been destroyed. Happy pi day! I’ve been craving apple pie lately and should have made one! I bet The Shell Seekers is amazing in audio. I haven’t read it in far too long though I am trying to reread some of her older smaller books. Have a great week!
