This Week
I turned one project in and started the next. I upgraded my indexing software from version 6 to version 8, and there are a lot of changes to how things work, particularly when it comes to keyboard shortcuts, so there’s a steeper learning curve than I was expecting.
For St. Patrick’s Day, I made corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots. On Thursday, I made the weekly loaf of fresh bread (with a little help from the breadmaker.) I love the smell of baking bread! This afternoon, I’ll be participating in an online reading of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, in which I will be playing Hero. (If you’re unfamiliar with the play, despite her name, Hero is one of the female characters.)

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: I reread By The Sword by Mercedes Lackey, and started rereading Winds of Fate. I also started Undercover Duke by Sabrina Jeffries (ARC.)
Listening to: The Shell Seekers, by Rosamunde Pilcher Well, I planned to, but I keep turning to podcasts instead: Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me; SheepSpot Podcast; 99% Invisible; and Twenty Thousand Hertz.
Watching: Not much, just a few episodes of Warehouse 13.
Playing: Merge Magic, DragonVale, Pokemon Go, and a few NYT games.

What a fun idea to do an online Shakespeare reading! Is it a group of friends, or something more formal?
I watched a filmed performance of King Lear (for Reading the Theatre month) and really enjoyed it. I think I may look up some more plays I can watch, since there is no telling when I’ll be able to see one in person again.

Hopefully once you get adjusted to all the new features it makes everything go faster but it definitely sounds frustrating! We didn’t end up doing much for St Patrick’s Day. My husband hates corned beef but I do usually try and make a stew of some kind and soda bread but it just didn’t happen this year. Next Year though it will be on! The Sabrina Jeffries looks good. I’ve been seriously neglecting the romance genre lately but Jeffries is one of my absolute favorites and I’m hoping to read something by her soon. Have a great week!

I have never had corned beef. My mom was not into much with cooking and somehow I’ve never had it. I’d be curious to know what kind of breadmaker you have. I got rid of my old one as it was kind of weird. Maybe the newer ones or a different brand would be better?
Good luck with the software update! This is why I have not opened my brand new computer yet. I’ll have to get everything set up again.

I made Irish stew and soda bread for dinner on St. Patrick’s Day. It was really tasty. But I did something this weekend that I haven’t done since the pandemic started: I bought a loaf of bread from the grocery store. I’ve been enjoying making all our bread, but I decided to go for something different. (It’s weird to me, though, that I’ve swapped what is “normal” when it comes to bread.)

I had the same meal for St. Paddy’s Day. Yum! Love the smell of baking bread and wish I still had my breadmaker. One of these days I will pick up Mercedes Lackey books. Fun that you did Hero!

I remember a friend used to cook us these tasty breads using her bread maker years and years ago, and I said I wanted to get one. Fast forward 10+ years, and I love mine too!
