This Week

Last Sunday, I participated in an online reading of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. I’ve been working hard all week on my current indexing project. On Friday, we got our second shot of the COVID vaccine. My husband got a fever on Saturday, but I didn’t. Good thing, too, because I’ve still got a lot of work to do.

For my family, today is Palm Sunday; it’s hard to believe Easter is almost here already. Normally, Holy Week is the busiest week of the year for choir members… but not during a pandemic. This year, like last year, we will be watching services from home, but I did record my parts for the virtual choir anthems, and turned them in on Monday.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: Other than the book I am indexing, it was a bad week for reading. I finished rereading Winds of Fate by Mercedes Lackey, and started the next book, Winds of Change, but that’s all. I didn’t read either of my book club books, darn it; I just didn’t have the energy for something new.

Listening to: A few podcasts this week: Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me; SheepSpot Podcast; Smart Bitches, Trashy Podcast; Twenty Thousand Hertz; 99% Invisible

Watching: I was feeling a little anxious, so I watched some Campion for comfort.

Playing: Carcassonne, Merge Magic, DragonVale, Pokemon Go, and a few NYT games. Not all of them every day, just as I had a few minutes here or there.

    I hope you like the Patricia Wentworth books! I love Miss Silver and calm assurance. Wentworth does include a little more romance than Christie but I do love her books so much. I hope your husband is feeling better. My daughter got a fever after both shots but it was pretty short lived. I’m glad you’re feeling okay! We are hopefully getting ours this month but I can’t quite believe it! Enjoy your reading and have a great week!

    That’s great that you and your husband got the second shot. I’m sorry he had side effects, but at least you know you are a little more protected than before.

    Congrats on the vaccination! I’m looking forward to our turn (eventually).

    Our Easter celebrations in a normal year are a big family gathering. That’s not happening this year, but at least with half the adults in my extended family being vaccinated now it feels like I can start to anticipate more “normal” holidays again.

    Great haul! Is Tuesday Mooney new to you? I’ve read it before, but it was a library copy and I think I want to buy my own.

    Tuesday Mooney sounds interesting! Yay on finishing your COVID shots. My boss asked us to take the day after our second shot off work, just in case, so I’m hoping to schedule that one on a Friday instead of burning a PTO day potentially being sick. LOL

    Congrats on the second shots! I’ve heard the second dose is more likely to make you feel a bit rubbish than the first so I’m glad you escaped it at least!
