May 2, 2021 Sunday Post 3

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

This Week

I had another good week of reading, reviewing, and blogging. I really hope I can keep this up; it feels a lot better than the slump I’ve been in, on and off, for the past year or more. The pandemic exacerbated the problem, but I was struggling with reviews well before then. I felt burnt out, and as though I had nothing new to say about anything I read. Now if I can just keep up the momentum! This is going to be a busy week with indexing, though, so we will see.

The COYER Readathon is this weekend (Saturday 9:00 am to Sunday 9:00 pm.) I have to work, but I managed to get some reading in yesterday and hopefully some today as well.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Audiobook cover: The Bookshop on the Corner, by Jenny Colgan

Reading: I read The Unforgiven (Heather Graham) and An Unexpected Peril (Deanna Raybourn), which are both ARCS (although An Unexpected Peril came out a month or two ago.) After that, I started The Awakening by Nora Roberts.

Listening to: My library audiobook hold came in, so I’m listening to The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan. I’ve also listened to some podcasts while I did housework and changed out the winter and summer wardrobes: Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me; Twenty Thousand Hertz; Smart Bitches, Trashy Podcast; The SheepSpot Podcast; and Fated Mates.

Watching: A few more episodes of Undiscovered Vistas, this time about Utah and Arizona’s high desert plateaus and canyons (including Zion National Park and Glen Canyon’s Lake Powell) and the wilderness of the Bahamas.

Playing: Carcassonne, Merge Magic, DragonVale, Pokemon Go, the NYT daily crossword (but not every day) and two of their other games.

Glad you’re getting your momentum back! I’m still struggling with blogging but I’m not pushing it… I’ve decided to just roll with whatever my mood dictates. 🙂

Hope you have a good week!

I understand on the nothing new to say when it comes to book reviews. I’ve toyed with burn out this year but reading was definitely the main thing that kept my sanity as intact as it is in 2020 and that’s helped. So many great books! Jenny Colgan books make such fun audio books. I have that one in print on my shelf and am looking forward to reading it.
