May 9, 2021 Sunday Post 9

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

This Week

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, stepmothers, and mother figures! Over the years, I’ve been blessed with a mother I love dearly and consider one of my best friends, two stepmothers whom I treasure, and a child who has been the joy of my life. Though I can’t be with any of them today, they are very much in my heart. To the rest of you, whether you have raised a child of your own or mothered someone else’s child (of any age), thank you. And if you have lost or given up a child, much love and many hugs to you also; I know this day can be hard.

I’m scrambing to finish a job, so it will be midweek before I can catch up with you all, but thank you for stopping by!

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I finished The Awakening by Nora Roberts, and From Spare Oom to War Drobe: Travels in Narnia with My Nine-Year-Old Self by Katherine Langrish. I reread Romancing the Duke (Tessa Dare), which is one of this month’s COYER Book Club books. (The other is A Court of Thorns and Roses, which I haven’t read before; I hope to read it in the next few weeks.) And I rounded out the week by finishing up Undercover Duke (Sabrina Jeffries), an ARC I had set aside over a month ago. Currently, I’m reading Jolene by Mercedes Lackey.

Listening to: The Bookshop on the Corner (Jenny Colgan.) Also a couple of podcasts: Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me; Twenty Thousand Hertz; The SheepSpot Podcast; and Fated Mates.

Watching: A few more episodes of Undiscovered Vistas, this time on the Bahamas, the Niagara Escarpment, and Lake Superior.

I need to read some Christie. And Bookshop on Corner looks like a nice read as well.

Have a nice new week. 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you were able to relax some as it’s been so crazy for you lately. So many gorgeous books this week and 2 Agatha Christies I haven’t read in awhile! I hope you have a wonderful week.

Oooh, Binti and The Order of the Full Moon Reflected in Water! I enjoyed those novellas, I hope you do as well! I’ve got my eye on The Dictionary of Lost Words also, but haven’t picked it up yet. I’ll be curious to see what you think of it if you read it before I decide to get around to it.
