The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

Last Week

Whew! Last weekend’s concert of the Rutter Requiem went pretty well. I finally finished the really tough index and turned it in… and so far, they haven’t asked me to make any changes to it, so hopefully all was well. I’m working on another one now: tight turnaround, so I’m putting in a lot of hours still, but the topic is both easier and more fun. I’ve also managed to fit in a little knitting, but no spinning.

At some point this summer, I hope things calm down enough so I can actually catch up on some of the reviews I need to write, and maybe even be able to schedule some posts ahead of time for a change! However, with a week-long family event coming up soon, I may not be able to catch up until sometime in July.

Speaking of July, I’ve decided to do the Tour de Fleece spinning event. It’s just for fun; participants challenge themselves to spin every day during the Tour de France. I’m not particularly into the Tour de France, but a spinning challenge sounds like fun. Oh, and when I say “spinning,” I don’t mean stationary bicycles — I mean wool!

What I’m Reading/Watching (3-week catch-up)

Reading: I continued my binge re-reading of historical romance for most of the week, but last night, I felt surfeited and decided to switch back to mystery for a little while, so I picked up another old Dick Francis novel, Rat Race.

Listening: I’m still making my way through Code Girls.

Watching: We finally finished Eureka Season 3.

All on sale or low price except The Rosemary Tree, which I’ve been wanting to reread for several months. I bought a beautiful first edition hardcover last week, but I decided to get the Kindle also so I can keep reading at night, if I can’t sleep. Elizabeth Goudge has been one of my favorite authors since I was in my teens.

    I saw people spinning at a local fair recently and thought it looked like the most soothing hobby ever! I could totally see myself trying it at some point.

    Spinning event sounds fun. I know a few people that spin. I didn’t realize how many people do that! lol

    I hope things settle down for you soon so you can get back to all the stuff you love to do. I am so behind on posts at the moment since my motivation is a little on the need to take care of me side at the moment. I am hoping once the kids are out of school I can settle down a bit and just relax but I have been reading a lot more and making a point to spend some parts of the day just sitting and reading.

    Your comment made me smile- I figured you meant wool but when you mentioned the stationery bike I had an image of a bunch of people peddling furiously on stationery bikes while watching the Tour on TV. 🙂

    You are an enabler. I saw some of your haul on Goodreads, so OF COURSE I had to add books to my TBR. 😉

    I plan to do the Tour de Fleece this year, too. It seems these days it’s the only way I can consistently get any spinning done.

        I remember I added The Library of Lost and Found for sure. There may have been others — I know I added a bunch all at once, but I don’t remember who prompted which adds. 😉

        I haven’t joined a TdF team on Ravelry, partly I need to see which fiber I plan to spin and see if there’s any obvious connection. Sometimes I’ve spun fiber from one dyer, or from all Phat Fiber sellers, for example. But I often just spin for me and don’t bother joining a team at all.

          That book looks good; I hope both of us enjoy it. Though heaven knows when I’ll be in the right mood to read it!

          So far, I’m only doing one team, sponsored by the LSG Spinners and Dyers group on Ravelry, which has been a helpful and friendly source of information on spinning.
