Last Week

Thank goodness it’s a little bit cooler than last weekend!

Mr. Bookwyrm and I will be at the dinner theater again this afternoon, so I probably won’t be around the blogosphere much today. We’re seeing South Pacific, which I have never seen on stage before; I’ve only seen the movie. Can’t wait!

Tour de Fleece comes to an end today. I reached my goal of spinning at least 15 minutes a day, and more on most days. I also spun 2 oz. of Black Welsh Mountain wool, part of my project to try the wool of many different breeds of sheep. I have another 2 oz. or so to go. And I washed a small batch of the lamb fleece I was given, and carded a little bit of that. The good news is that at least some of the fleece is long enough to spin. So I’ll be washing up some more this week.

I’ll also be working a lot this week; I have a project to finish and turn in, and another due in 3 weeks. So I’ll be pretty busy!

As I mentioned last week, our niece’s baby was born early due to some complications. Our niece spent a week in the hospital but has now been discharged. The baby, born 5 weeks premature, is healthy for her present development, but still has a few challenges to overcome before she can go home. It’s got to be tough on the young mom and dad, but we are all are just glad that both baby and mom are OK.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading:  I finished The Dog Who Lost His Bark by Eoin Colfer, and Rebel (Beverly Jenkins, ARC.) I started Dragonfell (Sarah Prineas, ARC.) And I reread Owlflight and Owlsight and started rereading Owlknight. (I reviewed all three back in 2015; click the title if you’d like to read the review.)

Listening to:  Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking

Watching: Still watching season 4 of Eureka; we’re more than half-way through. We also got back to Star Trek: Discovery. We’re about 6 episodes into the second season.

    I am obsessed with this Tour de Fleece. That is awesome! I have not been to dinner theatre in years. What fun! It’s been a really long time since I have seen South Pacific, movie or play, but it’s a good one. Enjoy!

      Are you a spinner, too? (Forgive me if I should have remembered that.) Tour de Fleece has been fun. It’s the first time I’ve ever done it. South Pacific was really good — both the play itself and the production.

      Thank you, Angela! They both got to go home Wednesday. (My niece stayed at the hospital with the baby until the baby was ready to go home, too.)

    Best wishes and prayers for your niece and her baby! Hope all goes smoothly. And hope South Pacific was great. Can you believe I’ve never seen it- play or movie?? I oughta do something about I suppose!

    Sounds like a good week overall! Nice job on the Tour de Fleece. I didn’t quite finish the goal I had set for myself, because I still need to ply the last bit of the second roving I had wanted to get spun up. However, I came really close, and am pleased with the progress I made!

    Best wishes to your niece! I’m glad she got to come home though, hopefully, she continues to get stronger and healthier!

    Dinner theater sounds like so much fun! I’ve always wanted to try one. I hope you enjoyed it!

      They both went home on Wednesday! Even though my niece was discharged, the hospital let them stay (sleeping in a recliner) to be with the baby until she could go home, too.
