Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The meme was originally the brainchild of The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Book Titles That are Questions.
These are all books I have read and enjoyed. (Links take you to my reviews.) In no particular order:
- Whose Body? by Dorothy Sayers. First in the Lord Peter Wimsey series, and a classic British mystery.
- Henrietta Who? by Catherine Aird. Second in the Inspector Sloan series; a traditional British mystery.
- Madam, Will You Talk? by Mary Stewart. Best described as mid-20th-century romantic suspense, by one of my favorite authors.
- Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? by Agatha Christie. A standalone mystery by one of the grande dames of Golden Age British mystery.
- N or M? by Agatha Christie. The third Tommy and Tuppence book is both mystery and spy novel, and more serious than either of the first two books.
- What’s a Witch to Do? by Jennifer Harlowe. Paranormal mystery, with a romance subplot.
- Who Is Simon Warwick? by Patricia Moyes. 14th in the Inspector Henry Tibbett series; traditional mid-century British mystery.
- Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear? by Nancy White Carlstrom. An absolutely charming picture book for young children.
- Magic or Not? by Edward Eager. Whimsical and humorous MG fantasy.
- Who’s That Knocking on Christmas Eve? by Jan Brett. Brett’s marvelous illustrations outshine the story, but it’s a family favorite during the holidays.

I went onto my Goodreads shelves and put ? in the “search my shelves” box. (Not the main search-everything search box.) I’m not sure I would have remembered all of these on my own!

It was fun! I tried the second book in the series and didn’t enjoy it as much, but I might just not have been in a paranormal mood at the time.

I love your list! I’m not familiar with most of them. But! Thank you for the reminder about that Edward Eager series! I loved the first book, but haven’t ever read the rest of them. I think it’s time to remedy that.

The Eager books are actually several series, loosely linked. And IIRC, maybe one is a standalone? It’s decades since I reread them; I agree that it’s time for a reread. Want to do a buddy read, or co-host a readathon or something?

Some are. I’ve seen N or M? on several lists this week, and a few of the other mystery titles as well. I admit, the Jesse Bear book seems to be unique to my list!
