Challenges
These are the books I read for various challenges. Since I have not written or posted all the reviews yet, some may not show up on my 2024 Challenges tracking page (which isn’t working yet anyway.) All links go to my reviews. All totals are as of Feb. 29, 2024, and do not include books read or reviewed in March.
Goodreads Challenge 2024: 24 books read or listened to in February. 36 books read this year so far, toward my year-end goal of 125 books. (Titles listed above.)
The Backlist Reader Challenge 2024: 1 books read (I Should Be Writing) and 0 books reviewed in February. So far this year, I have read 3 qualifying books and reviewed 2 of them, toward my year-end goal of reading and reviewing 16 books.
Audiobook Challenge 2024: 1 audiobooks listened to in February (Nuts & Bolts); I reviewed it in March. For the year, 3 audiobooks listened to and 2 reviewed by the end of February, toward my year-end goal of 10 books.
Library Love 2024: 1 book read (Inheritance) but not reviewed in February. That makes the total 1 book read and 0 books reviewed so far, toward my year-end goal of 12 books.
NetGalley & Edelweiss Challenge 2024: 3 books read in February; so far, I have not posted reviews for any of them (titles marked “ARC” in list above.) I also posted 1 review for an ARC read in 2022 and reread earlier this year (Legends & Lattes). For this year so far, I have read 11 books and reviewed 5 of them, toward my year-end goal of reading and reviewing 15 books. Current NetGalley percentage: still holding at 52%.
COYER Unwind, Chapter 1 (Winter): I read 18 qualifying* books or audiobooks read in February, but have not reviewed any of them yet. I posted 1 review from a qualifying book read in January (Legends & Lattes.) So far, I have read 40 qualifying books since January 1, and reviewed 5 of them. My 3-month challenge goal is to read and review 10 qualifying books by the end of March, so I am ahead on the reading but very behind on the reviews.
*To qualify for this challenge, (a) the book must be an ebook or digital audiobook; (b) I must own it; and (c) it must cost less than $5 for an ebook or $7.50 for an audiobook. Library books and books from subscription service don’t count, but e-ARCs do.
Resolutions (this month)
Writing: Days I wrote: 2. Number of words written: 825. I need to do much better. I think I will work on the second draft of a fanfic story to get myself back in the writing groove.
Reviews posted this month: Only 2, so I failed to meet my goal of one review per week.
Reviews of ARCs from 2023 or earlier: 1 (Legends & Lattes), so I met my goal of one overdue ARC per month. So far this year, I’ve written 2 reviews for overdue ARCs.
Prioritizing reading time over screen time: Kind of? I mean, I did read a lot in February, but I also spent a lot of time on the computer or on my phone.
Pruning and reorganizing my book collection: I didn’t get rid of any books in February, or do any rearranging. I acquired one new hardcover: a signed copy of The Lantern’s Dance by Laurie R. King, which I had preordered from The Poisoned Pen bookstore in Arizona.

I did! Even if a lot of them were rereads. But then, I really like rereading “old friends,” as you know.

I’m so excited to read Mind Games! I’d love to reread the Dark Witch series and the early Mary Russell books. I’m planning on getting a reread of those in soon. Happy March!
