My Favorite Books of 2023: I had very few 5-star books this year, but quite a few 4.5-star and 4-star books. I limited this list to books I read for the first time this year. I also decided not to base the list entirely on the number of stars I gave each book at the time I read it. Instead, the books on this list are the ones that shine brightest in my memory at the end of the year.

Reading Challenges I’m Joining For 2024: I plan to do several of same the year-long challenges I did last year, but I’m not going to add any new ones.
We had a whirlwind week-before-Christmas, juggling family time and Christmas shopping, wrapping, and cooking. Today we have two church services: regular Sunday service in the morning and the Christmas Eve mass tonight. And we’ll put the farolitos out at my parents’ house; it’s a tradition on their street, and people come from all over town to view them.
