2022 Reading Challenges

2022 Reading Challenge

2022 Reading Challenge
Lark of The Bookwyrm’s Hoard has read 7 books toward her goal of 175 books.

I set my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal at 175 books for 2021. I didn’t quite make my 180-book goal in 2021, and some of the books I want to read this year are longer and/or harder, so 175 should be quite challenging enough.

I’m also doing Read Christie 2022, hosted by the authorized Agatha Christie website. They pick a theme and a specific book each month. You can either read the official book, or choose another that fits the theme. My goal is 12 books: one per month.

Below are the books I read but have not yet reviewed for Read Christie 2022. Books marked with a * are books I have read or listened to before – which will be most of them, because I have read almost all of Christie’s works at some point in my life.

22 in 2022 is an informal challenge (as far as I know.) Or at least, I am doing it informally! I came across it as an Instagram tag, #22in2022, and decided that it was a good way to keep track of the books I own and really want or need to read this year. Some will count toward The Backlist Reader Challenge.

Over half the titles I chose for the challenges were gifts to me. The remaining books are either titles I bought or titles that Robin strongly recommended to me.

The photo only shows the 17 physical books in my possession. The remaining five titles I own in Kindle and/or audio format. All 22 titles are listed below, alphabetically by author (and in series order, if there are more than one in a series.)

Additional Goals

I want to read and review at least some of my backlog of review copies. (As a bonus, they will all count for COYER Seasons, and ARCs from 2020 or earlier will count for The Backlist Reader Challenge.

I want to be better about reviewing generally. For some reason, I have been in a major reviewing slump for a while now. I am not setting a specific goal because the quarantimes blues are still a thing, but I will try to do better this year than the last few.

I want to read more diversely. Books by and about BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) people; LGBTQIA+ people; people of non-Christian religious faiths; people with disabilities or mental illness.
