The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.
Last Week
In real life: We really enjoyed our second week of vacation. On Tuesday, Robin took the day off and we drove into the mountains above the town and walked the flat section of our favorite trail. At 8,400 feet above sea level, even a slow, easy walk was a bit tiring, since we’re still not really acclimated to the altitude, but it was a joy nonetheless. ADD PHOTO.
On Thursday, we had lunch in Santa Fe with a friend from high school and college whom I haven’t seen since the early ’90s. She lives abroad, and by coincidence was visiting her sister here in New Mexico. It was great to see her in person! We do stay connected through social media, but it’s not the same as being able to give someone a hug.
After our lunch, Mr. Bookwyrm and I hung around Santa Fe for a bit, then went out to dinner at a restaurant north of Santa Fe for a very belated anniversary celebration. Our dinner on the patio turned into a bit of an adventure when the wind became quite strong in advance of an oncoming storm. The wind and cool air was a blessing after the hot sun earlier in the day, but it did make for an interesting dinner. We ate quickly and avoided the rain, but had to work to make sure nothing blew over (or away.)
Yesterday, Robin and a friend hosted a wonderful tea party for us and my sister’s family, which was also quite fun.
Tonight, Mr. Bookwyrm heads back to the East Coast. I’ll stay on here for a little while, then visit my dad and stepmom in Utah before heading home. I always miss my husband terribly when we’re apart, but I’m trying to fit in as much time with my parents as I can while I still have them, and he is very supportive of that.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished rereading Eclipse by Celia Lake, then reread Magician’s Hoard and started rereading Wards of the Roses. I’m also over halfway through Claws and Contrivances by Stephanie Burgis (an ARC from the author.) And I started Murder at the Merton Library, which I am buddy-reading with Sophia Rose.
Listening to: Nothing currently; family time takes precedence.
Playing: Wordle and the NYT Spelling Bee, and Robin and I have played a bit of Pokemon Go. Also Wingspan, over at my sister’s house.
Watching: Ted Lasso (a little bit.)
Added to the Hoard

It’s important to spend time with family when you can. It sounds like a beautiful area for a walk too.

The tea party sounds fun! I’m so glad you’ve been able to spend more time with your family lately though I’m sure it’s been a bit of a challenge. I’m so glad I took the time to visit my grandparents so often even though it made my home life a bit more challenging. I hope you’re having a wonderful week and enjoying your reading.

There is a mexican cafe in Santa Fe called Tia Sophia. We had the best breakfast burritos there. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time.
