Top Ten Books on My Fall TBR List

September 22, 2015 Top Ten Tuesday 11

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Things I Love/Hate About Romance in Books.

I can never keep these lists down to just 10 books, so I’m going to put down 10 books that are coming out this fall, plus three older ones I’ve wanted to read since last fall/winter. I’m defining “Fall” as the period from Sept. 23 (the fall equinox) to Dec. 20 (the day before the winter solstice.)

Forthcoming Books

Older BooksFrom My TBR

Marillier-Juliet_Blackthorn&Grimm-01_DreamersPool
Rothfuss_SlowRegardOfSilentThings
Kearsley_TheWinterSea

Looking at this list, I seem to be veering toward fantasy and mystery again, and lightening up on romance. (I’ve already read one of the romances that was on my can’t-wait-to-read-it list: Heartsong Cottageby Emily March, which I really enjoyed.) That said, I’m expecting a lot of romances from Avon, so there will still be plenty of those in the mix this fall!

So what’s on the top of your fall TBR list?

“The Winter Sea” has been on my to-read list FOR-EV-ER! I’m pretty sure that Susanna Kearsley has the potential to be a must-read author for me, if only I would actually READ one of her books!

My list is pretty heavy on mysteries too. I’ve been reading a lot of regular fiction lately and I’ve had a craving for some crime (fictional, of course!) in my life!

I will SOOO be reading Winter, Magnus Chase and Cold-Hearted Rake. But I forgot about them for my TTT this week. Well, I was thinking about Winter, but I think of it being released in the Winter, because the end of December IS the winter where I live!

I have no excuse for Magnus and Cold-Hearted because I cannot wait to read them.

The Winter Sea! I read it a few weeks ago (though my review won’t be up until next month) and absolutely loved it, I couldn’t believe it took me so long to get around to it xD Hope you enjoy that book! cold-Hearted Rake has popped up on my feed a few times on GR, methinks I have to check it out 😉

    Great list, happy reading!

I’m absolutely determined to read Cinder before the end of the year and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts on Winter. The Tasha Alexander looks great and I have Mrs. Roosevelt’s Confidante on my list as well. Charles Finch seems to always have the best covers. I really need to start this series. So many books to read and I want to read them all!

Yes to Winter, any Juliet Marillier titles, and maybe Charles Finch, for me.
I read and enjoyed The Winter Sea. I thought it started off a bit slowly, but I think it’s because I had to ease into the mood for a descriptive, beautiful, intelligent (but not lightning-speed paced) story. I think you will enjoy it!

Fantasy and Mystery are my two favorite genres 🙂 I am really happy I came across your blog. Thanks for the recommendations! There is nothing I enjoy more than fall reading. I want books that I can snuggle up by the fire with and I have added quite a few of these to my TBR list. I recently finished a fantastic book by author Scott Wilbanks entitled “The Lemoncholy Life of Annie Aster” (http://www.scottbwilbanks.com/) . Annie finds a mysterious mailbox in her backyard that contains a letter addressed to her from a schoolmarm in the 1800s. Annie lives in modern day San Francisco and yet seems to have a direct connection to 19th century Kansas through the backdoor of her house! This book has mystery, time travel, romance, and truly lovable characters. It should definitely be added to your must read list this fall!
