The National Book Festival takes place on the Mall in Washington D.C. this coming weekend! They have a stellar lineup of authors scheduled to appear, including two of my favorite children’s and YA fantasy authors, Tamora Pierce and Susan Cooper. Also on the roster are Katherine Paterson, Holly Black, Veronica Roth, Elizabeth Moon, Mark Helprin, Margaret Atwood, Joyce Carol Oates, and host of other great writers. You can see a complete list of authors here. Check out the festival’s website for more information, a schedule of events and signings, and a map!
I’m hoping to attend the festival (barring flood, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances), so watch for a report on it sometime in the next few weeks!

I love the poster they have this year. I hope you have lots and lots of fun at the book festival. Wish I was going to be there this year! I’ll look forward to hearing how you liked everything.

That’s right, you’re out of town, aren’t you? It’s strange, but in all the years I’ve lived near or relatively near D.C., this will be the first time I’ve gone to the National Book Festival.
