2015 Historical Romance Reading Challenge

As if I didn’t have enough challenges already, I’m signing up for the Historical Romance Reading Challenge hosted by Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup. I love a good historical romance, and I used to read a lot of them, but have read fewer in the past year. Anna’s keeping the rules simple:  Anything longer than 80 pages counts. Anything set earlier than 1920 counts. Cross-genre stuff like paranormal-historical counts. Stuff you read for other challenges counts.

So hey, what have I got to lose? Just looking at my wish list and preorders, I’ve got 7 or 8 books I want to read that are coming out between now and the end of September, and that’s not counting anything that’s already been published and is on my TBR list.  I think I can make Level 2: 12 or more books without too much of a stretch. I’ll re-evaluate mid-year and increase my challenge level if necessary – though I plan to read a lot of mystery and fantasy this year, so 12 historical romances may be enough of a challenge.

Anyone else care to join in?

Thanks, Anna! I’m eagerly anticipating new books from Mary Balogh (along with a few re-releases of books I haven’t read), Julia Quinn, and Mary Jo Putney, and I’ve been meaning to read some Sarah MacLean and some more Tessa Dare, so I should be able to find at least a few good ones!

It does, doesn’t it?! I do enjoy really good historical romance – though I seem to be on more of a fantasy and mystery kick these days.
