November 2019 Challenge Update
With two months left in the year, it’s time to check in and see how I’m doing on my challenges. (TLDR answer: Not great.)
2019 Reading Challenge
Goodreads Reading Challenge: I’m actually in great shape on this one, as you can see. My goal was 190 books; I’ve read 183 so far. I will easily surpass my goal this year. At least half of those are rereads, which is about average for me.
Audiobook Challenge 2019: My goal is 20 books. I’ve listened to 11, and I’m nearly done with the 12th. It’s going to be a real challenge to finish this one, and I’m honestly not sure I can do it. (Hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer)
The Backlist Reader Challenge 2019: My goal was 20 backlist books from my TBR. I’ve read 19, and I’m starting another today. So I will achieve the reading part of the goal… but I still need to write reviews for most of them! So far, I’ve only reviewed four.
Blogger Shame Challenge 2019: My goal is to review 10 ARCs or review copies that are more than 4 months overdue. Well, I’ve probably read that many, but as for reviews? Yeah, nope. So far, I have totally bombed this challenge.
2019 Library Love Challenge: I have surpassed my goal of 12 library books, but again, I’ve been pretty bad about posting reviews. I hope to work on that in November and December, especially since some of them count toward other challenges as well (Audiobook and/or Backlist Reader, mainly.)
POPSugar 2019 Reading Challenge: I’ve checked off at least 15 of the 50 prompts, and I may be able to apply some of my completed books to a few of the other categories. But I haven’t written reviews for most of them yet. (Are you sensing a theme here?) Luckily, I don’t feel a lot of pressure for this challenge; it’s more for fun. So I don’t really care whether I complete it or not.
Blog Ahead (October 2019): I completely and utterly bombed this challenge. I didn’t get ahead by even one measly little post. I knew going in that I wasn’t going to get 31 posts done, but I didn’t think I’d be this bad.
So there you have it. I have a lot of work to do to catch up with most of these challenges. The majority of that will be writing reviews for books I’ve already read. As far as reading goes, I’m in reasonably good shape, except for the audiobooks. I’ll have to hunt up some nice short books to boost my count!

Writing reviews for so many books can be hard! If I don’t write them right away, they linger, I start forgetting things, and then I just don’t find the motivation to write them! Good luck!

I get it. I can’t wait to write reviews, but sometimes I don’t feel like doing it. I have to do it within a day or two. I don’t think I have 10 ARCs that are more than 4 months old. I may be getting close but I’m hanging in there. I keep pretty current.

I had fabulous intentions that fell seriously flat as this year spun out of control. Next year will be my hear though! Congrats on your progress and yay for being so close to your Goodreads goal!

And this is why I don’t usually make review challenges for myself. I’m not just a mood reader — I’m a mood reviewer, too. It still sounds like you’re making good progress on the reading front!

I think I’m doing well on the reading (for the most part), but this year I have really sucked at reviewing. I need to work on that…
