The Take Control of Your TBR Pile 2014 Challenge (hosted by Kimba, The Caffeinated Reviewer) ended yesterday, and I did dismally. My goal was at least ten books, and I only completed six. Mostly this was due to a huge work project which ate up my time. (The stress of it also made me turn to rereading some older favorites in lieu of TBR books.) Still, I did manage to finish six books, several of which I’d been wanting to read for months. (*cough* Scarlet *cough* Codex Born *cough* River Road *cough, cough*)
Unfortunately, I didn’t get all the reviews written yet, either, but I’m working on it!
Click title links to read my review.
- River Road (Jayne Ann Krentz)
- Reflection Point (Eternity Springs) (Emily March)
- Barefoot Season (Blackberry Island #1) (Susan Mallery)
- Codex Born (Magic Ex Libris #2) (Jim C. Hines)
- Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles #2) (Marissa Meyer)
- A Life in Stitches (Rachael Herron)
- Cress (Lunar Chronicles #3) (Marissa Meyer) (started but not completed during the challenge)
- An Unwilling Yankee (V. V. Wedding) (started but not completed during the challenge)

You did awesome and now once you write those reviews you will have some banked and ready to go. Did you sign up for the ARC challenge in May? It posted today.

Thanks, Kimba! I’ve still got some reviews to write, but I’ve been slowly catching up. And yes, I just signed up for the ARC Challenge. Boy, do I need it!

I read 4.5; one I finished today so it doesn’t really count. My goal was 5 so I did okay. You read 6 so you did better than I did. 🙂 And hey, we got books read! 🙂

You did well too! And yes, the important thing is that we got to read some books we wanted to read just for ourselves. Sometimes I feel so pressured to get through all the ARCs that I miss the fun of reading whatever the heck I want, when I want to. I got a little of that back this month.
