In the Dragon’s Eye is where I share the books I’ve got my acquisitive eye on: the ones I’m really excited about and hope to read and perhaps add to the hoard. I also link to “Waiting On” Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. Cover links take you to Goodreads; all blurbs are also from Goodreads.
County Mayo is rich in the traditions of Ireland, legends that Branna O’Dwyer fully embraces in her life and in her work as the proprietor of The Dark Witch shop, which carries soaps, lotions, and candles for tourists, made with Branna’s special touch.
Branna’s strength and selflessness hold together a close circle of friends and family—along with their horses and hawks and her beloved hound. But there’s a single missing link in the chain of her life: love…
She had it once—for a moment—with Finbar Burke, but a shared future is forbidden by history and blood. Which is why Fin has spent his life traveling the world to fill the abyss left in him by Branna, focusing on work rather than passion.
Branna and Fin’s relationship offers them both comfort and torment. And though they succumb to the heat between them, there can be no promises for tomorrow. A storm of shadows threatens everything that their circle holds dear. It will be Fin’s power, loyalty, and heart that will make all the difference in an age-old battle between the bonds that hold their friends together and the evil that has haunted their families for centuries.
Why I want to read it: I have really enjoyed this series so far, and I want to see where it’s going to next — or rather, how it’s going to get there. Where it’s going is fairly obvious, but the combination of romance and Irish legend and magic is pretty irresistible!

Me too! I really want to read this series. Heard mixed-reviews about #1 being formulaic, but hey it’s magic and Ireland, how bad could it be 🙂 Thanks!

On one hand, it is a little formulaic. OTOH, I like the characters and what she’s doing with the magic, and as you say – it’s Ireland and magic!

I pre-ordered this on Nook for a ridiculous 1.99 or something and cannot wait. I enjoyed the first two books and I am excited to see how it turns out:)

Mine’s preordered for Kindle! I read the first book from the library, and grabbed it when it went on sale for Kindle. Then I bought the second on preorder, and the third almost as soon as it was available. 🙂
