In the Dragon’s Eye is where I share the books I’ve got my acquisitive eye on: the ones I’m really excited about and hope to read and perhaps add to the hoard.  I also link to “Waiting On” Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the SpineCover links take you to Goodreads; all blurbs are also from Goodreads.

Marrying Winterborne (Lisa Kleypas)

Ravenels #2
Avon: paperback, May 31, 2016
A ruthless tycoon
Savage ambition has brought common-born Rhys Winterborne vast wealth and success. In business and beyond, Rhys gets exactly what he wants. And from the moment he meets the shy, aristocratic Lady Helen Ravenel, he is determined to possess her. If he must take her virtue to ensure she marries him, so much the better…

A sheltered beauty
Helen has had little contact with the glittering, cynical world of London society. Yet Rhys’s determined seduction awakens an intense mutual passion. Helen’s gentle upbringing belies a stubborn conviction that only she can tame her unruly husband. As Rhys’s enemies conspire against them, Helen must trust him with her darkest secret. The risks are unthinkable…the reward, a lifetime of incomparable bliss. And it all begins with…Marrying Mr. Winterborne

Why I want to read it:

1. Lisa Kleypas is writing historical romance again!
2. I enjoyed the first book, Cold Hearted Rake. (my review)
3. The first book ended with Helen’s broken engagement to Winterborne, but then in the epilogue, she visits him at his office…
4. …and it’s clear she has more backbone than I initially thought, so…
5. I want to see how two such different people—in class, in temperament, in interests—find their way to happiness together.

I enjoyed Cold-Hearted Rake, though not as much as the Hathaways or Wallflowers series. That may just be familiarity; we’ll see what I think in a few years. 🙂
