The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures – I mean books!
My Week
It’s been a busy but productive week. I’ve started physical therapy for my wrist/thumb, turned in an indexing project, made good headway on the Blog Ahead challenge, and started thinking about (gulp!) Christmas. The sun has come out (YAY!) and the weather has been lovely (except for a thunderstorm or two.) So all in all, I am feeling pretty good!
The big semi-annual booksale for the library starts on Friday. I’m planning to go to the preview sale Friday night. Let’s see if I can be a little more restrained in my book-buying this time!

What I’m Reading/Watching
I finished listening to Tamora Pierce’s Wild Magic (again.) I devoured Lisa Kleypas’s Cold-Hearted Rake in two sittings (and I already want the sequel!), and started The Adventuress, but other than that I have gotten very little reading done. I’m still working on Spinning Starlight by R. C. Lewis, and I still need to get back to Forever Your Earl (Eva Leigh) and Move Your Blooming Corpse (D. E. Ireland) – not to mention starting Newt’s Emerald, which comes out next Tuesday!
We’re still watching season 5 of Star Trek: Deep Space 9. The Dominion War has started, so each episode kind of flows into the next – it makes us want to binge watch to see what happens next, but given our schedules, we can’t manage more than an episode a night.
New Additions to the Hoard
These are from the last two weeks!
For Review
I hope I have time to read these before they have to go back to the library!
Purchased (Print)
Purchased for Kindle
Rose Daughter, An Old Betrayal, and The Name of the Rose are books I’ve read but wanted for Kindle. All the others are new to me. All of them were on sale, except The Traitor Baru Cormorant, which I got at the Kindle Matchbook price because we bought a hardcover copy for Robin. (Seth Dickinson was one of the staffers at the Alpha Writers Workshop which she attended in 2013 and 2014. We’re very excited to see his book published!)
Have a great week, everybody, and happy reading!

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the Lisa Kleypas so much. She’s one of my favorite authors but I haven’t read anything by her in awhile. I also really want to try Charles Finch and Tasha Alexander. Hope you got some great books at the library sale and I hope your physical therapy is going well. Have a great week!

Hope therapy is going well! And…We’ve been trying to start thinking about Christmas as well. I don’t want to as it’s been a tight year, but it needs to start seeping in to think about what we are to do. lol.
Enjoy your new reads and have a great week!

Well done on getting ahead in… Blog Ahead. And Christmas plans? No… I’m in denial that it’s fast approaching.
I never got around to reading The Martian but watched the movie yesterday and very much enjoyed it!
