The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.
Last Week
In real life: Errands, routine medical tests, planning and packing, and trying to finish at least some of my Tour de Fleece spinning took up most of my week. I did accomplish most of what I wanted to get done before we left, with the exception of cleaning the house. Now we’re in New Mexico, staying with Robin but spending time over at my parents’ and sister’s houses as well. The monsoon rains are (in my sister’s words) “kind of wimpy this year,” so while it has cooled down a little, it’s still pretty hot, even way up here at 7000 feet.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished my reread of Robin D. Owens’s “Celta’s Heartmates” series with the novella Lost Heart. I read Best Foot Forward and started Shoemaker’s Wife by Celia Lake (the latter came out Friday, just in time to read it on the plane.) I’m nearly through Murder Most Royal by S. J. Bennett (ARC), which is just as delightful as the first two novels in the series. And I need to get back to Claws and Contrivances by Stephanie Burgis (an ARC from the author.)
Listening to: I finished up Hunted by Kevin Hearne, in time for the Iron Druid Readalong chat this afternoon (assuming I can fit it in around family obligations.) And I finished Season 5 of the Writing Excuses podcast, and started Season 6… which means I am finally up to the point where Mary Robinette Kowal joined the cast! She’s a really good writing teacher, so I’m excited to continue learning.
Playing: Wordle, the NYT Spelling Bee, and Pokemon Go (as time permits.) Now that we’re out here with family, I’ll be playing a lot of tabletop games and card games in the coming weeks… accompanied by tea. Can’t wait!
Watching: Neither of us had time to watch anything this past week, but we’ll make up for it in the coming week.

For Review or Consideration
Many thanks to Harlequin MIRA for Cursed at Dawn! Alas, I wasn’t approved for books 1 and 2 in the trilogy, so either I’ll have to buy them, or read this one without reading the first two. (I checked with the library, both here and at home, but the hold lists are much too long.)
Purchased or Free (Kindle, print, or audio)
Print:
Kindle: Shenanigans (sale); Shoemaker’s Wife (preorder that came in this week);
Audiobooks: Beyond; Into the West; Why Didn’t They Ask Evans (all on sale); Shattered
(Click title for Goodreads page or my review.)
Lory @ Entering the Enchanted Castle
Have a wonderful time with your family in New Mexico! It’s chaotic here because we are getting ready to move, so I feel a bit discombobulated. In a month things will be better.

Katherine
I was approved for the first and third book in the Heather Graham series but not the 2nd which was a bit strange. I have enjoyed the trilogy though. Enjoy your time in New Mexico and hopefully you’ll be able to relax a little bit!
