The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.
The Past Week
In real life: The previous week’s relief from the heat was welcome, but this week the heat and humidity came roaring back for the majority of the week. Friday was cooler, only in the 70s, but still muggy, and Saturday saw us right back in the upper 80s. I can’t wait for fall.
Mr. Bookwyrm was away on travel most of this week. I wasn’t terribly productive while he was gone. I had a neurology appointment to check for nerve damage in the wrist and arm. (The good news: they didn’t find any impairment; the nerves are working as they should. The bad news: Still no idea why parts of my hand and forearm tingle from time to time.) I worked on my current freelance project, but I’m still behind. And I brought my spinning wheel upstairs and returned to spinning the fiber I was spinning back in June. That also gave me access to the treadmill, which lives downstairs, so I was able to start exercising again.
Then on Friday, after a very rainy Thursday night, I discovered a water stain on the ceiling of the not-yet-painted bathroom. Right away, I called the man who installed our roof 10 years ago. He came out Saturday and looked it over. He will be back today or tomorrow to fix the roof. I guess it’s a good thing that the painters haven’t yet been back to finish that bathroom!
In the coming week, I’ll be finishing up an index, and getting ready for an upcoming trip.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching (since 7/14/2024)
Reading and listening: I did read a fair bit this week. I reread Three Graces (a novella), Bound for Perdition, and The Hare and the Oak by Celia Lake. I’m currently halfway through The Muse of Maiden Lane by Mimi Matthews (an ARC; due out in November), and have started a reread of Eclipse by Celia Lake.
Listening to: Ivory Vikings: The Mystery of the Most Famous Chessmen in the World and the Woman Who Made Them, by Nancy Marie Brown, read by Tony Ward.
Playing: A little Pokemon Go, and my usual NYT word games: Wordle, Connections, Strands, and the Spelling Bee. I also started playing Wingspan on Steam.

Nice that you are getting things back in place. There’s a silver lining to the bathroom not being completed!

So glad you discovered the water leak BEFORE the ceiling painting! That would have been so frustrated. I’m so sorry to hear about your issues with your hand and arm. Nerve issues can be so difficult to diagnose – and to find someone who listens to you about that kind of thing. I hope you’re having a wonderful week.
