The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures — I mean books!
Sunday Post
I’m still tired a lot of the time, but I think there’s been a little bit of improvement. Mr. Bookwyrm drove me to the Friends of the Library booksale on Friday night, where I bought way too many books (and about 8 opera recordings, yay! I’ve been wanting to expand my knowledge and/or reacquaint myself with some of the better-known operas, but I haven’t had any recordings except Die Zauberflöte – The Magic Flute.) Robin gave me a list of books too, so we were shopping for three people. We came home with two big boxes, nearly full. I don’t know if I could have made it if he hadn’t driven. As it was, I was wiped out by the time we left.
Other than that, I’ve been trying to work as much as I can, and rest when I have to. This afternoon, I’ve got to muster enough energy for the second-to-last rehearsal for the choruses I direct. The concert is next Sunday. The kids are doing great; I’m the one who feels a little unprepared!

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading: I’m still working on The Lost Kingdom of Bamarre (Gail Carson Levine; ARC.) I finished A Bedtime Yarn (ARC), which is cute and sweet. I also read Eclipse Bay, Dawn in Eclipse Bay, and Summer in Eclipse Bay by Jayne Ann Krentz (Kindle; all three purchased recently; all count toward The Backlist Reader Challenge.) And I reread Second Sight, White Lies, and Sizzle and Burn by Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick—they’re the first three books in the Arcane Society series. (I didn’t post covers of those three.)
Listening to: Hidden Figures, by Margo Lee Shetterly.
Watching: We finished watching Prince Caspian, but other than that, we haven’t really watched much this week.

Many thanks to Tundra Books!
Purchased for Kindle
All on sale, except Summer in Eclipse Bay. Hey, I had to finish the series, right?
Purchased in Print
I bought too many books to post photos of all of them. I found a bunch of Nora Roberts titles (some I’ve read but want to own, others I haven’t read), two or three by Amanda Quick (both read and unread), four Cassandra Clare books (going to give her a try because Robin likes her), a few older Dick Francis and Dorothy Sayers titles in hardcover to replace my teeny-print paperbacks, and a smattering of other authors (Robin Hobb, Edith Pattou, Kaitlyn Dunnett…) Oh, and two knitting books. All in all, a good haul!

Oh man! I wish I went to a Friends Sale for books! I’ve always wanted to go to those sales, but I could never get the times right!

I usually put it on my schedule weeks or even months in advance, and block the time out so I can go. I miss going with my daughter, though. She loves the sales as much as I do.

It sounds like the library sale was a good one!

It was pretty good, yes! I didn’t find many of the books on my wish list, but I found others that looked good. 🙂
Michelle @Because Reading
I think they have a library sale next week at the next town overs library. Two bigs boxes is quite the grab! Sorry you are still feeling tired. I hope it passes soon. It must be frustrating feeling like that.
I hope this week is an amazing one for you Lark! Happy Reading! ox

Thank you, Tiffany! I got really behind in answering comments while I was sick, but I’m feeling a lot better now. 🙂

Library sales are awesome but dangerous. I always come back home with more books than I could read. Enjoy your new books!
Lark_Bookwyrm
They are hugely dangerous. I haven’t unpacked the box from the fall booksale yet, let alone this one. I need to make room on my shelves first!

Urgh – I’m sorry you are still so tired. I hope you kick the mono soon.
That’s a lot of new additions this week! I hope you find some good reading time while you are resting. 🙂

Thank you, Di. I’m sorry I’m late in replying; I got really behind while I was sick and recovering. But yes, I’m feeling much better now, thank you!

Your husband is so sweet! I hope you continue improving and feeling better day by day. Good luck with the final rehearsal and the concert! I’m sure it will go off without a hitch.

He is wonderful! I’m pretty late in replying, but thank you for the good wishes; I’m mostly recovered now. And the concert went very well. 🙂
