The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
Last Week
Now that we’re home, I can tell you why I’ve been “silent” for the last 10 days…
We are just back from a wonderful family vacation in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness with my husband’s side of the family (his two siblings, their spouses, and all our adult children.) It was restful and relaxing, and the weather was almost perfect. We had one rainy day, when we stayed mostly in the cabins and just hung out together, but the rest of the days were beautiful, and never any warmer than about 73. My kind of weather!
We did a short hike to another lake and waterfall one day. We visited the International Wolf Center and the North American Bear Center in Ely (on separate days.) We canoed, played games, explored the town of Ely, toasted marshmallows around a fire, and enjoyed one another’s company. It was a much-needed break for Mr. Bookwyrm, who has been working much too hard recently… and the same could be said of me, as well. And best of all, it was a week with our Robin. Living 2000 miles apart is hard on all three of us, and we treasure the time we get to spend together.
There was no cell phone reception or wireless at the resort cabins where we stayed. I had cell phone reception on the days we went to Ely, but I prefer not to advertise the fact that I’m not at home, so I stayed silent on social media and here on the blog until we got home.
I’ve come back with renewed energy and full of plans for the next month… mostly for my offline life, but I hope to do some catching up here on the blog as well.

What I’m Reading/Watching
Reading:Â I didn’t read a lot over vacation, which surprised me. Normally I do, but I spent a lot of time talking and playing games with Robin and my nieces and nephews in the evenings, instead of reading. I did continue my Stephanie Laurens binge-reread, but that’s about it.
Listening: Code Girls. I’m enjoying it, but I’m nearly done, so I am trying to decide what to listen to next. I’m debating between Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking, A Natural History of Dragons, A Wind in the Door, or 101 Dalmations. Or something else entirely!
Watching:Â Birds, rabbits, bears (in the wild and at the Bear Center), wolves (at the Wolf Center), turtles laying eggs, sunsets, lakes, a waterfall, our evening fire…

Sounds like a great vacation! Welcome home!
How’s the narration for Code Girls? I’m planning on reading that one, but haven’t decided between print or audio.
