Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The meme was originally the brainchild of The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Books on My Fall 2023 To-Read List.
Books on My Winter 2023–2024 TBR List
Note: These are in order of publication, and all of them are coming out this winter, between Dec. 21, 2023 and March 19, 2024. (Except for the books at the bottom that were on my Fall list but remain, as yet, unread. Most of those have already been released.)
The Lily of Ludgate Hill by Mimi Matthews (Jan. 16, 2024)
Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett (Jan. 16, 2024)
The Bright Spot by Jill Shalvis (Jan. 16, 2024)
A Fragile Enchantment by Allison Saft (Jan. 23, 2024) Note: this book was released on Jan. 2, 2024.
Wild Life by Opal Wei (Jan. 23, 2024)
Of Hoaxes and Homicide by Anastasia Hastings (Jan. 30, 2024)
Just Stab Me Now by Jill Bearup (Feb. 5, 2024) Inspired by the popular YouTuber’s “Fantasy Heroine” series of videos about Caroline, a fantasy romance writer, and Rosamund, the fictional heroine of her current novel, who refuses to go along with Caroline’s ideas (especially regarding her Hot Enemy and Only One Bed.) If you haven’t seen the series, check out the videos here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4. They are funny and imaginative and absolutely delightful. The fan response was so positive, and so many fans clamored for an actual book, that Bearup decided to write it. I initially thought the book would be Rosamund’s story (which I would love to read all on its own), but I gather that in fact it’s both their stories, including the witty repartee between them. I preordered it almost as soon as the link went up on Amazon this summer.
The Tainted Cup by Robert Bennett Jackson (Feb. 6, 2024)
Smoke and Mirrors by M. E. Hilliard (Feb. 6, 2024) Note: The date for this book has slipped to June 4, 2024, so it is no longer on my Winter TBR.
The Lantern’s Dance by Laurie R. King (Feb. 13, 2024)
Perfect Accord by Celia Lake (mid-February, 2024) (cover and link updated 1/08/2024)
A Midnight Puzzle by Gigi Pandian (March 19, 2024)
